Finally got to the dealer and picked up my 00 VFR yesterday. Looks like I'm going to have to learn to ride a motorcycle again. No more just tossing it through corners any old way. My SV is waaay too forgiving and it turned me into a lazy man. On a positive note, the suspension actually feels like a big upgrade to me after years on my suzuki. Oh, hey look at that. I just sold my SV and got a 00VFR that I plan to ride for the first time tomorrow
I just got home from my first ride on my VFR....not a long ride...still chilly here.
SO much more comfy than my last bike (SV with aftermarket clip-ons, rearsets) didn't really notice the extra weight when riding, but I wasn't cornering too aggresively...I did manage to push the heavy pig uphill into the garage with my feeble girl arms.
I'm sold..too bad it's supposed to snow later this week.

If it's feeling heavy in the corners, check your tire pressures.
#1 culprit for lousy handling. I've seen riders bombing around with 10-12 pounds of air in the tires.
After suggesting they fill them up to what the Mfgr recommends, it's like a revelation to them!

And an extra 2 PSI up front will make it flick even easier. Your call though.
Funny you should mention tire pressure, Canuck. My first ride was the ride home from the seller. Before my second ride, I checked, and guess what? About 10psi low. That correction made a huge difference, but still, my SV is like a rideable version of Motorcycling For Dummies. Oh, and Bunny, You don't ever have to apologize for hijacking a thread of mine. I don't offend easily. I'm at the point where I'm just glad to get replies. Apologies for the slow post. I don't see the computer during the week.
