well, i was watching the 700 club last night, and pat robertson said the end times were near - so why not get prepared? we picked up my girlfriend's VFR a few months back for $1600 with some seriously rashed plastic. we bought a piece or two here and there to fix it up, but finally got frustrated and decdied to go a different direction. a friend wanted to street fighter it out, we thought...why not?
does it count as a rat bike if it still has the heated grips? (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/smile.gif)
if the bike your lady is leaning on, is the bike that got RAtted, then I have to ask......... WHY?
YOu might need new friends to give you "different" direction. Did your friend have a mullett by chance? (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/goofy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/comp13.gif)
the 'before' photo is quite flattering - the tank's dented to shit on the other side, the front cowl's cracked all the way down the middle, both side fairings are broken all over, and the rear's not much better.
hehe. yeah, it's awful, i know. don't worry, it's being turned black pretty soon. first it's getting a ride down to LA, where hopefully it will blend in with the other feces...
BoyfromTN, Apr 5 2007, 09:16 PMMaybe it's just me but I think rat bikes look good in flat black with some red accents, to each his own though.

I agree. It needs to be flat black. Don't forget to paint the headers black too. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
You also need to ditch the side mounted radators and replace it with a center in-front-of-the-engine type. Would look much better IMHO. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/cool.gif)
Boy you guys must have been striken with a bad case of dumbass that day. WOW, thats the most hideous looking POS I have ever seen. What the hell were you thinking when you painted the entire bottom half of the engine?
Did you have this guy paint it for you for a crack rock or something?
captainchris13, Apr 5 2007, 11:26 PMMaybe some hood scoops on the outside of the fans to cover them and push air inwards? get that mad max soupped up kinda look...
And flat black.
Then again its the GFs ride and she is learning? Bright yellow in that case.
With flat black stripes.
Perfect color scheme for a new rider!
The overall idea isn't that bad. The paint scheme I like too, sure a few more mintues with the local papper snatched off a sleeping hippy and some painters tape would have helped. Also in total agreement on the scoops, but not just any scoops for the rad (hey you know where I'm going with this) but Nacas. That would be keeping it real! Real what I have no idea...
Yeah some nice scoops... (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
Might look pretty cool if you go flat black, clean off the paint that is random, move the radiator, and do something with the exposed bottle!! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
Served a medicinal purpose......one dose helped me get over my traded VFR..........in case other posts were vague.....THAT LOOKS TERRIBLE...ALMOST PAINFUL TO DO TO A VFR............. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/sad.gif)
One thing is for certain, you'll never be out riding and have someone walk up and say, "HEY, that looks just like mine!" (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/smile.gif)
Wow...such hostile responses some of you! Granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you don't have to beat the poor guy down for it. He did something different (not the way I would go) but welcome to the land of the free (while it lasts). (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/unclesam.gif)
I have to admit though, the naked look on the VFR ain't that bad. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif) I wouldn't choose urban camo as my paint scheme though. I all ready can see the cager saying to the LEO, "I didn't see him." (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/rolleyes.gif)
