Brembo radial master cylinder reduces the pressure to actuate the clutch by as much as 2/3...

Very nice, but all that & still a stock exhaust.

Hell for the price of all that you could have a second bike.

BLS, thanks for the info, I thought the clutch action was pretty light on my bike myself, funny one would need it lighter? I agree with Rob too, that it's probably a looks mod.

You're welcome... Perhaps the VFR clutch is light enough but the clutch on the RC45 is off the NR750 and
employs a stiff diaphragm type spring that gives the arm a real work out...

You have better eyes than me, it just looks so fugly compaired to rest of bike, best part about this site is if your wrong you will soon be corrected :-)

The front end conversion with brakes, light wheels, and Ohlins rear must be sweet. I doubt the Brembo rear brake is worth anything but a little bling. The pictures also show a Scotts type steering damper. I'm guessing over $10k in mods.

The text indicate that used a Ducati swing? Is that correct? That would explain the single nut rear.

Regarding the Brembo rear brake being just bling...without the linked brakes you don't need the 8" wide (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/goofy.gif) LBS rear caliper.

I think it is gorgeous...I actually like the look of the stock appearing bike including what looks like a Ti exhaust can. Every poser says "Ha. An old man's bike"...and then you carve 'em up in the corners. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

does the Carbon Fiber Front Fender for a Ducati 916/998 match right up?

I misread the rear swing arm....that is still the Honda unit, probably modded a Ducati hub for the single nut.

That's not how I read it: "The Brembo mounts up perfect for a Ducati single sided swingarm but the Honda bracket is bigger all around. The Honda bracket was cut down and a Ohlins brake bracket was cut up and machined so it could be welded to the original bracket. All in all it came out perfect."

Well, look at it this way. If you dump all that money on a current liter bike, would you even be able to tell if it helps given their current level of performance? I guarantee you'll be able to tell on a "lowly" VFR! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

I really don't like the looks of those front brake calipers. They appear TOO massive, almost cartoonish in a way.

But I don't reckon it - it still has the Urglee front confirminators, and I think the zorst, wheels and front brakes look Urgleeer than the OEM ones.

Plus it's the CommonAsMuckRed.

May be common here online, but I am the only one in my area with a nice clean red bike! (when I put it back together that is) :sobs:

Good to see someone had the time to figure out how to mate the Duc Brembo rear caliper to the VFRs brake stay as I was looking at this winter.

The Brembo rear caliper is probably not necessary as the Dymags should clear the OEM rear caliper, but the rear hub conversion is either a custom job or comes from DymagUK or one or two of the people I know who make them.

Can't say I like the look of the radial monoblock calipers though. And a fairly incongrous low mount exhaust on a bike with megamods like Ohlins forks with radial fork bottoms ($1500 just for the bottoms, mind you). You woulda thought they could have either found a Wolf system or had one made like RobM did.

It does look a little too 'stock' for something that is really quite highly modified. Personally I would:

- paint the fork lowers/caliper bosses black (or take the paint off the rims to balance it out)
- ditch the low exhaust for a high one (or underseat)
- lose the upper exhaust heatshield (above the footpegs)
- extend the bellypan back - with the 4th Gen-ish blackout it makes the bike look a bit odd

If the owner is anything like us it's a work in progress anyway... maybe we should get a msg to him/her to come and join us for a little constructive criticism, lol. He/she might have some ideas to make our rides look a little better too...

Something has been done to the rear fender area - in fact the whole rear bodywork has some serious work, albeit where it's not really noticable.

Look at where the (custom) exhaust hanger goes through the bodywork:

BTW has anyone looked at the other project bikes? Ken's shop does some fine work.

That exhaust can looks like an OEM Yam R1 unit from around '02 or so.

And good eyes on the custom (?) undertail.

Has anyone seen or have a pic in hand of a 5th gen with left side exhaust?

The undertail looks like one of those off the shelf units. I forgot the manufacturer but they pop up on eBay once in awhile.
