Well, I just joined HRCA not even 2 weeks ago, and got my card in the mail 2 days ago. For some reason, today I threw the card in my tankbag when I was heading out to school. Turns out I was really going to need it. I took the long way home, as usual, down a backroad with a couple of curves and a good long straight-a-way. Going into one of the turns I noticed that the steering felt mighty awkward, like the forks were coming out of the clamps or something.... not a good feeling! Checked the front tire, looks good.. checked the rear... AHA!! DAMNIT! hahaha Flat as could be. I was about to keep going at a very slow pace but realized a couple of things: home was about 5 miles, TMAC is coming up in 2 weeks(don't want to bend the wheel), and I BROUGHT MY HRCA CARD! So I pulled over, dialed, punched in my membership code, stayed on hold for about 10 minutes, then talked with a cust. serv. person who had a tow truck on the way in about 5 minutes. I wanted them to just tow it to my house but I guess they have to take it to a dealership. No problem I guess, I had someone bring me my new Pilot Power2CT I was saving for just before TMAC, and had them replace the rear only, since it would have cost me a lot more laborwise for them to take the front off also. I'll just take it off myself and bring them the new one to change. So, my $39.99 membership fee for HRCA has already payed itself off. I would highly reccomend anyone on here to join, simply for the Roadside Assistance, if you don't have a policy that covers that already.

Yeah, the $39.95 membership is a good deal. If you only use a couple of the discounts you get each year, it ends up paying for itself. I was just impressed by the lack of any kind of hassle involved with getting a tow truck out to me... Call, tell them who you are and where you're at, they send a truck, back on the road in no time! I'm not sure if any of te other manufacturers out there even provide this kind of service. Probably one of the reasons so many of us Ride Red.

its nice to hear you had good response, not real fond of them forcing you to take to dealer for a flat. Next time you might be out 50 mile from no where, waiting on a tow truck may not be as pleasant. PLease consider some flat repair ablity for yourself.

I was under the impression with the HRCA membership that they would take you to the closest Honda Dealer or your choice of destination within 100 miles. At least, when I used mine last year, that was the understanding.

I don't usually even carry my toolkit, but I never leave home without a tubeless tire repair kit. I've successfully used one three times over the years. Why wait for a tow truck when you can patch and ride in about fifteen minutes?
