I finally got my '99 on the dyno today. Configuration is Tbros header, Wolf slip on - baffles removed, K&N, PC2 with Tbros full exhaust system map from Dynojet for CA model, 45K miles on the bike. Pair valve removed, snorkel and flapper still in place. Dyno machine was a Dynostar.
Interesting to see the numbers and the comparison to an '06 VFR and '02 GSXR750 run on the same dyno. Notes from the tuner were 'current fuel set up not bad, a little rich' (above 2K, very lean below 2K). What was a little surprising is how linear both curves are..
Pics are a little hard to read so here are the numbers:

A while back (maybe 4-5 years ago) I had my 99' dynoed and it ripped out 112 at the wheel. Two Bro's full system and a PC2.
This coming weekend the dyno will be revisted only with gob more miles and a PC3 usb ala group buy.
Can you post the results? I'm curious to see if it's all the miles, I got a low powered bike or maybe I can blame the dyno. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/dry.gif)

Don't take it to heart, his bike might only pull 92 hp on your dyno! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/unsure.gif) Really they very a bunch, 5-15% and some use different numbers. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/warranty.gif)

Kevin is right, dynos vary a lot.
The only comparable results are obtained by testing both bikes on the same dyno, the same day, and preferably by the same operator.
My dyno'd 100.6 HP made me happy, just because I broke the century mark, but that would vary a bunch depending on where you are located and what type of dyno you run on.
I thought our bikes put out more than that stock??? I was actually hoping to be around 110 once I get a proper map! After Tinyminds put on the '99 headers I gave him , he went to the Dyno, had a custom map made, and put up 109 or close to that. I'm not going to let a 6th Gen show me up, hahaha!
The GSXR put up roughly 30 more hp but only posted 4 to 5 more lbs of torque? Very surprising to me. Of course they have a phenomenal weight advantage over the VFRs but 4 pounds of torque seems like nothing.

Well, I happened to look up a '84 Toyota 22R motor today. Very surprising if irrelevant..96hp, 125 ft-lbs torque...If you don't mind a stinky I4...

I will post the results of this coming weekends run and subsequent adjustments (map) on the PCIII.
The previous run was a DynoJet system and the bike was run to red line in 5th, in San Diego at near sea level on a fairly dry 70 degree day.

That extra power is a result of more aggresive tuning of the fuel injection, ignition timing, as well as the cylinder head porting.
the GSXR spins faster and flows more air in and more exhaust out.
The VFR is tuned for torque and general ridability, the ports are smaller which increases low end torque, and much of the torque comes from the extra displacement the motor carries.
My wife recently picked up a 2000 VFR and after riding it, I noticed the mid range felt VERY much like one of my 600cc race bikes, it stops making power where a 600 will keep pulling, but I know why so many people like these bikes now.
off corner drives and midrange acceleration is very impressive.
I also know someone who's sister's cousin's, friend's brother in law found out that a VFR is quite comfy with the front wheel 3 feet off the ground.

It's a little hard to see but the '02 gsxr and vfr motors are evenly matched up to about 9K, and the VFR's torque curve is much nicer down low. Other than the weight difference...and vfroem can give a lesson on how to take care of that. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/491.gif)
I installed both the PCIII and the TC FPR several weeks ago on my '00 and had it tuned. My max. HP is now 106.7 and torque is 57.6. The tuner really had to lean out the stock maps because of the FPR. I know the dyno's very between the dyno itself, temperature, altitude, etc. but I was happy with the results
