Well after 3k miles....the cord was worn through on my rear tire.....the front has around 40% left. I thought the tires were good. I preferred my stradas since they handled better in the rain and would last much longer. I replaced the rear with a Met. M3 and kept the front diablo on. I will say will only 300 miles on the M3 it feels like glue.....I've been over farther than I was on the diablo. I enjoy the confidence the M3 inspires but for slab riding in florida I can't justify the sticker tires.
Next time around I will spring for Avon Storm ST or the Diablo Stradas.

I think the main culprit of the life difference between the tires is the Florida's heat... Hot road will eat your tires almost twice faster.
I do run M3's on both of my bikes and I do like them but they always start sliding when still about 30% left on the rear tire - they do turn blue. A tire specialist explain to me that maybe I put them through harsh heat cycle (track days) and then let them sit and that the oils are coming out from the tire, thus turning blue and sliding a bit ... I would be interested if anyone has the same experience...
Btw, I did get about 4K from the tire before 30% left.

No problem. I've still got the Strada up front, it's got plenty of life in it. But I toasted the rear Strada back in early July.
3000 on my Corsa 3's and showing no aggressive wear.

M3's on track bike and on VFR. on the track bike, just 3 days on it, but no bad blueing and no traction issues. still have atleast 1 more day left on them. on VFR, i got 3200 miles on it and when i took it off, the middle was so thin, it looked like the belly scene from the movie 'alien' when i pushed by thumb against the inside. no blueing or traction issues at all.
I got just over 2200 miles out of my Diablos on my F4i... just had another set put on my spare wheels, all on the street. the front had maybe another thousand in it, but I change in sets and keep the decent fronts for spares.

I'm surprised as I have Never been on a better wet tire then the standard Diablo and I push and ripe it in the wet too! :rolleyes:
I get only get 400 extra miles from a Strada over a Diablo, but that is a 20% improvement! :blink:
Intresting only 400 more miles BR.......go figure! Yes I should have mentioned these are the same tires I blasted up to the gap with and did 1500+ miles in three days or so. We ran about 80mph on the slabs for hours.....so I am sure they shortened their life much faster due to the heat. I noticed on a pit stop just near Atlanta that both my rear diablo and my buddy's storm ST's were blistered with that dreaded center wear. Heat does wonders!

Yeah, I was avg. 1800-2000 miles at best from a rear Diablo (2400 from a Strada and the rear would slide a little from my normal riding style), loved the tire just not the wear.
PP give me on avg. 2200 miles and never step out until the cords are showing! :thumbsup:
Actually I started using my race take-offs on the rear after a good track day and have been getting 1200 miles from them with no issue. :rolleyes: I've run through at least 10 rears on my track bike this year already! :blink:
those of you slabbing it, jack up those pressures for those long interstate rides!!! Makes those tires not wear so bad!

I run factory pressures measured cold and have minimal squaring.
I think squaring is unavoidable in FLorida. Hey BR.....fwiw: I've heard several guys raving about the new diablo corsa 3's that used to run powers on their rides. Hell they all make a darn good tire that can handle all of my riding abilities!

Yes, very good tire! I did 2 track days on a set and the front still looks semi new and will go on the VFR sometime soon. :thumbsup:
No complaints with these tires, but no street use on'em so far! :unsure:

A pilot road is the perfect tire for florida, it actually has very good straightline traction and wears very good

what is the pilotpower( rear) yielding you on milege? I've been afraid to run the PP rear fearing the wear, I got 4,000 mile out of strada rear in the Hot Summer.
I've run the pilotpower front in the winter , I was able to get 6,000 mile out of the front over the winter. Actually when its raining and 30s degrees Nothing like a pilot power on the front ( its got traction). Those temps stress the Z6 a little more

I've been riding a pilot road rear since the end of June, its about the kiss the bars, this will be the last weekend on the tire Hurray Hurray!! I've got a Z6 rear ready to go, I really liked the Perilli strada rear, so I want to see if the Z6 will wear alittle longer. The z6 front has done really well through the summer, its still crankin out the miles , near 8,000 miles and probably good for another 1000 miles .
I'm going back to a Pilot power front for the winter after the z6 front dies, I got the Z6 rear for $135 locally, thats a pretty good price

Best mileage I have managed on the Pilot Power rear on the VFR is about 2600 miles.
One tire not many are talking about is the Bridgestone BT015. They were OEM on my '07 CBR600 RR. Never been on a tire that inspired so much confidence on dry roads.......grip is phenomenal! But at 2200 miles the rear was finished. Switched to the Pilot Powers which are a great tire, but think I will be going back to the BT015's......once they got some heat in them they clawed the pavement.
^^^ it should be mentioned that John usually calls his tires finished pretty early. I'd ride another 500 or 600 easy on his finished tire :goofy:. Seriously though, when they get close to the wear bars he changes them.
I've just run a set and a half of the Corsa III's. I'm going to stick with these for a while. I have not had them slip or step out on me at all, including a day at Mid Ohio and the wear seems to be pretty good for sticky tires. I've got over 3000 miles on the front, still got 1500 left probably. I can't tell you how much I'm getting out of a rear yet, went through about half of one and put a new one on to do the track school. I'm about 60% through that one.
I most certainly must not be doing something right, I put a pair of Diablo's on my bike in October of last year at 32,173 and now am at 47,800. The still have a lot of life left in them. True I do alot of commuting, but when riding spirited I have not had any qualms with these tires and love the rain handling caracteristics(up here in the northwest its needed :( )

Have M3's on my snob bike and they stick like glue. Time will tell how long they last. I suspect with the way I pour on the HP out of curves, they won't last very long...like all my tires. Have a set of Storms on my "new" 1999 VFR and they're doing "OK". They don't turn in near as well as the M3's (naturally) but, by far, not the worst tire I ever bought. They're have edge to edge wear on them and haven't slid them yet. May not be the case as they wear a little more. FWIW.... :thumbsup:
I have 4000 miles on my Stradas and they look brand new and the bike handles great, no chicken strips, a friend has 8000 on his and they look perfect, and that is in the heat of Arizona! I sure do not understand the discrepancies in wear, are you guys cheking your tire pressures regularly? We are fanatical about it.
