Looked Inside Forks And Guess What I Found.

I recently posted up that I wanted to buy some springs. I figured since I bought the bike used from a Honda technician and the bike had a few mods done when I bought it, I figured I would look in the fork tubes. I found a spring with a long tube spacer so this is obviously an after market spring. I was going to pull everything out but have no idea how to get the spring out. When I do get the springs out, will I find markings on the spring to indicate what they may be?

Your bike actually comes from the factory with spacers. A better indicator would be if the springs were straight wound, as the factory springs are progressive. There are aftermarket progressive wind springs, but it seems the straight wind is more popular.

Why not just ask the guy?

IIRC, the factory spacer is about 3.3"(but that's for a gen 6, yours may be different).

See HispanicSlammer's how-to thread HERE for pics of the stock components.

Well I guess its good that you found springs.

When I read the post headline I thought you may have found Jimmy Hoffa.

It could've been almost anything.

If this was a post-Winter post, there could even have been a slim chance of acorns...

It's all rather anticlimactic really.
