Well I woke up this morning only to find my bike cover on the ground and my be-loved 1998 Red Vfr gone... sad.gif
I live in central NJ and would like to ask for the assistance of my fellow VFER's in case they come across anybody parting out any pieces that could be from my bike.
My bike had custom painted white wheels and a custom tape works graphics kit.
I also had a Stainless Steel Header & Corbin seat with Red Pipping.
If anybody comes across any possible parts from my bike or any other information regarding this please contact me at my email address below.

Man, bad memories of when my 2001 was taken. Yours is a beaut....in my case I found the tank, fairings and suspension on eBay about two weeks after it was stolen. Your designs should be plenty easy to recognize. I'll keep an eye out.

Sorry to hear, but damn what a beautiful bike. What idiots, why not steal a really popular bike? Easy to say but shake it off, neither you or your family are hurt and they make new bikes everyday. Here's hoping you come out on the good side of this.
That really sucks! I never had any of my bikes stolen, but I still remember when the Pioneer stereo in my Honda car was stolen back in college when I had no money so it was dear to me. that empty, sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that followed me all day after discovering the crime that morning is something I would never want to go through again ever, so I can relate to your loss. I also have done enough modifications on my 95 to set it slightly apart from stock. I also worried that someone will notice me driving my bike into my garage and do a hit while I'm gone working all day. I hope they get the guy or at least you get enough replacement compensation from you insurance to get you back on two wheels. I wonder if you can hook up a couple of tasers (one for the handlebars and one for the seat) that will zap a thief good and crispy if they try to steal your bike?...Hmmmmm.

I'm sorry I haven't responded back to everybody, but I just spent the past few hours canvasing the neighborhood asking my fellow homeowners if they may have seen anything suspicious.
This must have happened some time in the late morning hours between 12:00am & 5:00am.
I'm just really sick to my stomach now Veefer Madness & would gladly pay Mr. Soprano some big bucks if he and the boys would just beat these POS to within inches of death... wink.gif

PorradaVFR, I can only hope that these lowlifes are that stupid to list some parts on eBay.
I & some of my friends will be watching very carefully.
If the rest of the good folks here can do the same and just contact me even if they think something being parted out could be mine I just might have a chance of nailing these thieves.

You're 100% correct about the decal marks on the plastics. I would also bet that the area around where the decals were will be ever so slightly faded.
Also my tank has a very small touch up paint spot about half the size of an eraser head about 6" behind the gas fill lid and about 3" to the right on the top side where the tank begins to transition down.
The corbin seat also had a tiny silicone repair on both sides where the seat transition under the tank on the points.

+1 on the cash. Use the reward for Guido when you find out who did it. Keep in mind it could also show up on Craigs List and Cycle Trader. Man is she a pretty bike!!
How hard would it be to pull the graphics? Are they stuck fairly well that you would see peeling scratches from trying to remove? I know the original VFR logo across the bottom lower fairing was hard to remove on my yellow bird.

The money reward stands and will go to whoever can help me recover my bike regardless of the condition it's in as long as it aids in the arrest of thieves.
Of course any information obtained would be squarely held confidential and only shared with the proper authorities.
The bike also Dynojet Power Commander II and the the lower right fairing (exhaust side collector side) had a bit of the plastic melted in the shape of a 1/4 round moon approximately two inches in length.
The rear cylinder down pipes came loose and the collector hit the panel and melted it some.
So if anybody comes across a lower right side fairing with the tell tale sign with a melted 1/4 round moon shape on the lower lip, I would bet the farm that it probably belonged to my bike.... wink.gif

No. The police, with whom I was in regular contact, could not secure a warrant because I could not prove conclusively that the parts were mine. Without a VIN# etching or other entirely unique identifier the parts could be sitting out in the open and the guy could tell the cops to pound sand.
Even better - if *I* were to instigate a conflict with the guy I'd have faced more serious charges! The cop told me straight up to just walk away and work with State Farm. Basically thieves toss the engine and frame (VIN# parts) and sell the rest. They find engines and frames in canals in Florida all the time. pissed.gif
Your parts, thankfully, appear to be modified and (hopefully) regarded as unique. The advise I got was to etch the VIN# on the backside of fairings and in hidden parts of other components.
Having a bike stolen is a real bummer. Never had but one stolen....1968 BSA Lightning....Red and Chrome in 1973. A friend tipped me off to the guy still riding it in Fayetteville, Tn and it was now Black and Chrome. Ah, I was just 21 then and went after the bike myself with a friend to help load it in the truck........good thinking on my part because the guy that borrowed it seemed to be in bad physical condition and too much pain to help me load it. Seemed to be real happy we stopped "discussing" the theft and actually started loading it................ rolleyes.gif

Although I was always quiet member of the forum, I had always loved to read here more than I did talk. I just never thought that I would ever have to call on my fellow forum goers like this.
So once again I would like to thank everybody here @ VFRD for all their the kind words and the willingness to keep an eye out for my bike.
Based on some new information I have there's a very strong belief that my bike is possibly being stashed in the eastern Pennsylvania area to be parted out at a later date when things cool down.
I can't give any specifics just yet, but my bike was likely stolen by someone (persons) who only lives minutes from my house and may have been transported my bike to a residence along the Jersey/Pennsylvania border.
I ask that if they're any members who live in the eastern Pennsylvania/Jersey area to please keep an eye out and a ear open for anybody who might be selling or parting out parts for a VFR in that area.
My reward still stands and again everything will be kept in very strict confidence and only shared with the proper authorities.

I know (well as a young kid) how easy it was to steal shit for ones own benefit, but now that I am a working man I fully understand how wrong it is. You thieves will mess with the wrong guy one day (as proven earlier in this thread). I hope you get dismembered for stealing that sweet looking VFR. Do you even know what a VFR is? Thats right, harder market than say an R1. Owners of stuff do not have enough protection by law when it comes to thieves. It really is a thieves world. Even when they are caught, they get off lightly and get revenge on you. How is the world a safe place? Oh wait, it isn't...so that means I must defend myself in this unsafe world. Thats right thieves, I don't just get angry on a keyboard. I can crack your skull open with a pipe just like any other pissed off person could.
I once read (probably on here) about a guy who thought he found his stolen bike parted out on eBay. He contacted the seller (local) and told him he wanted to come over and look at the parts. When his key from the kitchen opened the gas tank in the seller's garage he was busted. Cops were called and he got his bike back.
I'm on ebay and craiglist all the time......addicted I guess, but if I see a remnant I'll shoot you an email.....That's a beautiful whip though. Theives should be suckin' the farts out of cinema seats!! I recently moved to the city with my chick and in the two years I've been here I've had about 2500$ worth of stuff stolen from me, one of which was a 350$ compressor right from the basement......I could see the footprints and tracks inthe dirt!!! Hope you find the assholes and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!!! pissed.gif
