Since I bought my 01 two years ago, I made just a few minor upgrades and it was money well spent. Installed a Zero Grav screen, Michelin Pilot Roads, Jardine pipe, suspension set for my 265lb arse, and the Power Commander. I had it mapped and dyno'd by a race shop in Georgia. It came off the dyno at 101.5 at the wheel with 56.5 lbs torque. No more sluggish pull off and you can hit it at any range and it's like getting shot out of a cannon. Sign me up!!! I've been contemplating whether I should update suspension and whatnot on my 1998 with > 60k miles . Or sell, and get a newer VFR. I'm thinking upgrade. Just because I love the bike, and the payment is easier. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/goofy.gif)

Huey at Marietta Motorsports did the tuning. Those guys are the best! I went with a PCIII. If you want it done right, check them out!
Yes, the bike is set. Now if I can just learn to ride well like the rest of you, I'd be set. I don't get a lot of seat time, and just started riding again after having been off two for 30 years. I swear, before I die, I'm going to put a knee down. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to do track days and at my age, it might be a little late to start. I'm thinking minibike in a really big parking lot. And yes, I love my VFR!

After those Pilot Roads wear out, try M3's or Pilot Powers. That will make all the other mods feel that much better.... (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
I may not wait til they wear out. I've had it step out more than once in cold weather and I don't like the unpredictability. I was even considering dual compounds like the C2. That left me a little unnerve and less confident in my cornering ability. I'm pretty big and am not sure how it's going to act pushed over.

Take it gradually, and if there's any doubt about the tires, replace them. They're expensive, but at the same time cheap insurance. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
