Mirror Quickie

Hi all,

came out yesterday to find my 2000 viffer on its side, what a pain (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/pissed.gif) .

Think the wind must have blew it over or else
someone was messing with it. Anyway I'm lucky as there is not alot of damage; right side mirror is smashed. Honda are looking for 85� for a new one which came as a surprise, didn't think they were that expensive.

Before I commit, does the 2000 vfr share its mirrors with any other honda bike? Might pick one up second hand, have had no luck so far.

Poop. Don't really have any answers for you, but I'm sure someone's got a set of condom mirrors, in there garage. You could always replace the glass with cheap plastic mirror, to get you by, until you can turn something up.

Not sure about the exchange rate, but you might do better buying one from American Honda (through member JoeW) and have it shipped. It might even be cheaper based on how weak the dollar is. It's worth a PM. By the way, I don't think you want a condom style...those got changed to the stalk style in 2000 (as you already know) so I think your only option is either a 2000 or 2001 mirror.

I was able to buy a new pair or mirrors here for a member from Spain and sent him a nice care package including a pair of mirror extenders. I wonder who sells them? (sorry...shameless plug) PM JoeW and see if it would work for you.

Thanks lads, should have been more detailed, when I say the mirror broke I mean it broke off where the stem meets the mirror housing, the actual mirror
itself is perfect...figures! Plus the guy I bought the bike from had them colour coded red.

Might PM JoeW alright, cus it's the stalk style I'm after, really hard to find second hand so thought another honda might share
such a mirror. Guy at work suggested plastic welding it but don't think it'd take the vibrations and bumps of regular riding.
