Well new to me anyway. 98, 11k miles. Lowered (ugh....) -1 front sprocket, jardine exhaust and PC3. I have NIB factory fairings but won't put them on until I raise it back up to stock height. Its scary close to scraping and handles like ass at low speeds. I'll need a new kickstand as well, and the centerstand is MIA. The previous owner thinks he can get it back (left it at an old employer's) but it wasn't a deal breaker.

It runs very nice, pulls great with the -1 front. Faster than the SV in every way and its cool to have some revs to play with again! My wife says it sounded loud but I couldn't hear the exhaust, only the cam whine at low/med speeds and wind at freeway speed. It is night and day having that fairing on the freeway compared to the SV. Wow, very comfy on the trip back home.

In the next couple of days its off to the shop to get the fork seals replaced, raised back to stock and given a once over for anything else. Here is hoping our warm weather (60 in january, crazy desert....) holds up for next weekend!!!

Whatcha think, happy siblings or bitter rivals?

EDIT-Note the 'custom' brake lever. Luckily I ride two finger anyway!

Glad to hear that you are going to get it back to shape with the new plastic and correct height.
I've had a couple of bikes without fairings and each time I went over 60mph I swore I was never going to buy a naked bike again.

It was the one on CL, I never did hear back from pheer. Hope he's ok and just not on the web.

I have a 2000 VFR and a 2002 SV650s that sleep side by side in my shop, and they love each other (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/smile.gif) And so do I.

How was it lowered? If it's a lowering kit, planning on selling? (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

Yes, it has new triangles, he didn't just rotate the stock ones. I don't suppose I'll have a use for them so name a fair price and you can have them.
