Stock Dogbone Length?

Just wondering. The guy that sold me my 5th gen said the only mods to lower the bike were swapping the triangles. I compared the stock triangles to the ones on there now and I'm not sure that is all the difference in height.

Does anyone know the length (eye to eye) of the stock dogbone?

Rotate your triangles so that the arrow faces forwards instead of back and up.

Then you're back in the stock orientation.


Maybe the shock preload is sacked all the way out to allow more sag? Shorties do that sometimes to help legroom.

Eye - Eye is almost exactly 4.5".

The 4th gen bike's is shorter, rear ride height would be way up if that one was installed. It raised mine over an 1". Not sure about the 6th gen, it may be longer, = lower ride height.

These are aftermarket triangles, not stock rotated ones. I have the stock ones in a box of stuff and they will go back on.

EDIT: It is indeed 4.5 inches, and the preload is one click from all the way out so that explains everything. Thanks guys!

I rotated my dogbones and prefer it like this, but the bike stands up pretty straight when its parked on the kickstand now. Other than using the center stand, is there a way to improved the stance when it is on the side stand?

Mine just has the bottom part of the sidestand cut off. Simple if not an elegant fix. It does damage concrete and you'd probably want to carry around something to put under the stand if you parked on dirt, hot asphalt, etc....
