Not sure if this has been posted here before, but I thought I'd show you 5th gen lovers out there, or anyone impressed by real skill...

Alright, I need to solve an urban-myth-legend-mystery spread via sites like this one... I've read about and seen these Japanese Stunted Stunt-Police a dozen times and I've heard many claims that those VFRs, which look to all intents and purposes like the 5th gen VFR800FI, are actually are 400CC version. This would make some sense in that that would make them lighter and more manoeuverable, although from what I can gather they have raised the handlebars considerably, which would gve them more leverage... I've tried it and can do similar short-radius zig-zagging stuff, but for obvious reasons haven't pushed her to the limit. They just seem to lift the front wheel so much easier (inanother vid of the same mob) and given the size of the Japanese, the bikes just look lighter....


Who can confirm or deny this rumour????

the bikes the cops have are stock tuned, but often have taller and wider bars. and as far as running from them.. in the city.your toast...hit the highway and they will not follow,however, if they get your plate # ,they will show up later!!!! had my bike impounded! learned to use a James bond flip plate when moving!

There are a number of different videos floating around. This one, now that I watched some of it, looks like VFR800s. A couple of the other videos are of 400s.

My joking aside, these guys have some serious skills and I couldn't even hope to do the low speed stuff they do in these videos.

Back when I took my MSF course, one of the instructors was tossing his fully dressed Goldwing around the course and turning the figure-8's way inside the box and smoothly too! I thought THAT was crazy...until I saw those cops on the VFRs! That's skill!

That is some terrific riding.

Always wondered about that as the Honda Electronic Parts catalogue contains a photo of a fifth gen that is named VFR300W as opposed to their regular designation VFR80FI?

Yeah, but who'd put dual disc brakes on a 300 or 400cc bike? That still looks like an 800.

Someone posted a large picture of a Japanese Police VFR on here last year............it was an 800............ rolleyes.gif

I can't think of any reason why they couldn't be a custom version built just for the Police over there..... after all, Honda is a Japanese company and would probably take pride in providing the bike for the Police.
