I know I have posted at least twice about a possible 5th gen powerplant to a 6th gen bike. but I think someone has gone an done it!

Yes, I read this. I goal was to prove that the 6th gen frame with the 5th gen engine was a definite improvement and that VTEC was just a gimmick. He got pretty far, but not sure he proved his point yet. BTW, I agree with him, but I'm not Soichiro.

If Honda would have sold a 6th gen with and w/o the Vtec I probably would have bought the non-Vtec and been happy, but I sure would not waste one minute trying to convert a Vtec back! 491.gif
I have put over 55,000 miles on my Vtec running it harder and faster then many of you could even dream of doing and over that last 5 years on this bike I've had almost ZERO complaints about Vtec or the bike. It has never left me stranded once(the only time it did it was my fault) and has cost me a total of <$250 for parts and maintenance outside normal wear and tear items over that same 55,000 miles. fing02.gif
I've ridden and owned over 50 different brands & models of motorcycles just in the last 8 years (M/C wholesaler) and I am completely happy with my Vtec. I can spank or run with anything out there and have <$5k total in the bike, what's there not to like! tongue.gif
My first bike was a gen5 and I quickly got accustomed to the gear whine. I wanted to do a swap because of all the problems I heard about vtec but when I actually bought one the gen 6 made a believer out of me and after reading what this guy has gone through I'm so glad I decided not to try it.

I'll vouch for this. RPM/mile wise: 1k baileyrock miles in the twisties is equivalent to about 5k of mine in the land of the straights. Seriously. warranty.gif
