Got My Wheels And Seat Done...pics

Got my wheels powdercoated satin black and finally got my wheel barings in so I got the bike back together today. Also had the seat reupholstered with a nonslip black vinyl. Let me know how you like.

That black 8 spoker would look GREAT on my bike..... :biggrin:

I think I would be the opposite, I dont like black wheels, although they hide brake dust, chain oil and dirt very well.

While cleaning my rear wheel a couple weeks ago I noticed a few paint chips in it. I'm thinking I may eventually get both wheels powdercoated. Maybe "old school" VFR white, which would be pretty different on a 6th gen. I also thought about matching them to the red on the bike, but I think it would look weird.

Never been a big fan of white wheels, so I am really liking the black wheels. Looks real good, I like it :fing02:

Can I ask what it cost to have this done? I am considering having it done to my bike and want to make sure I'm not getting taken to the cleaners.

The wheels cost me $125 each which I don't think is the cheapest around but they did an absolutely fabulous job. The seat cost me $115 to redo in nonslip vinly and he added a passenger strap.

Looks great, I've done my 8-spoke in black powdercoat too (to match the black R1 front wheel).

The black rotor carriers and pillion grab bars look good too, now how about black fork lowers and a CF front guard to set it all off? :)

I liked the white wheels (since I had one), but hated that damn stock grey seat, so I wound up with a Sergeants in black.

Wish I had never sold that one last year, I do.....

I'd say the bike looks more "mean."

I have white wheels on my '89 "FK;" even had them powder-coated fairly recently (when I had the wheels widened) ... white again. I like the look, but it is a chore keeping the white wheels clean.

nice job, especially the black seat. looks excellent, but then what VFR doesn't!

90RedVFR750, your wheels (and seat) look great, got any higher res pic in the gallery? Money well spent in my opinion.

It's like they attract road spooge or summat...
Those on my black (actually "Granite Blue Metallic") '90 VFR750 were chipped'n'scratched, so I stripped them and gave them a slight polish. Despite people saying, "Ooooooh... those'l be a bastid to keep clean!" they were actually much less work than the painted/powdercoated finish. I suspect the paint/powdercoat actually electrostaically attracts road spooge...

Do they make that exhaust for a 5th gen? How loud is it?

I'm going to say it looks terrible, because that is what I think.

Rhubarb put a grey 3-spoke wheel on his RC30 and REFUSES to paint it or get a grey 3-spoke front wheel. Drives me NUTS :dry:

But if you like it that is all that really matters.
