2002 Honda Interceptor Embodies The Tumblebug

Bombardier recently came up with a new concept vehicle that "promises a whole new experience on the road." The 2002 Honda Interceptor would be a single-wheeled vehicle that used gyroscopes and sensors to maintain proper attitude.

Sound appealing? Here's how it would work:

Technology will be used to harness the laws of physics, with the gyroscopes and sensors, a high-performance braking system, active suspension, night vision and robotic assistance. A digitally encoded learning key will start the engine. To move forward, the rider activates a trigger on the left handlebar. The landing gear retracts when the speed reaches 20 km/h. To turn, the rider leans in the desired direction.

I guess the artists's rendering wasn't too off the mark

I guess the point is that you should believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see. If the new ones are 1000 cc and come in black, I will buy. Other than that, its all a bonus.

What am I missing? What does the one wheeled Bombardier gizmo discribed in the text have to do with the artist's rendering that is almost 100% spot on?

nothing. The point was that some things are right, ie the artist's rendering have to come from somewhere as that one was spot on as apposed to the way out roumours of wacky technology being false.

i guess I meant to say that 2009 will prolly bring us a 1000 interecptor, but not traction control, v5, rear-view closed curcuit tv etc.

i dont know whats wrong with me..........................i am in the nether-weeks in between Redskins season and in the dog days of 100 degree afternoons, with nothing but re-runs on tv. sorry

I will now serve my self imposed 10-day post ban.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Timmy. It's not you. Everyone has to find a way to cope with my ignorance from time to time.

Oooo, I like the front end much better on the concept. Makes me want to try a 954RR headlight swap.

1000cc and Black ? I like that I've been looking for something that could replace the vfr and really the only thing that I see which could , would be something like that.

What I'm afraid of is HONDAS Green direction, ofcourse with fuel at these levels , I would not be willing to eat sub 40 MPG

Ahh man all these 7th gen posts are killing everyone. Look guys and gals September is just around the corner. No need aching about it till Honda (the most secretive company I have ever purchased from) finally press releases it.

Now go get out there and ride before the snow starts falling again.
