7th Gen Rumor Mill

The latest rumors I'm hearing today concerning the 7th Gen VFR is that it will actually be a V6, not a V5.

I've also heard that Honda has patented a method whereby the cam lobes are actually bonded rubber pieces to the camshaft shaft. By being rubber, as RPM's increase, the cam profile "grows" and provides more lift and more duration which equals more HP on top.

I'm guessing it will probably be the V6 out of the Honda Accord, which may add a little weight and girth to the bike but overall I think it's a good move. :fing02:

It is good move only if it comes with a 6 speed manual transmission. Automatic should be an option only.

Maybe the can pilfer some parts from the Acura line and add SH AWD to it. I would love to have a 2 wheel drive VFR!

I did just hear that this new rubber was developed by them and was just recently patented. They're supposedly going to use it in a new mono front fork (ala the NAS concept) in a bladder form, it will hold an electronically variable nitrgen charge instead of conventional oil and valves. ;)

And it has two cup holders heated and cooled... :fing02:

Sounds all very expensive. If they still want to sell 7th gens VFR they wil have to cut on some other gismo's like countersteering.

When you hit 12,000 rpms, the rubber expands so much it explodes like that video of a CDR being spun too fast!

Can I get mine with a sunroof?

They are doing away with bars and putting a wheel on it with padel shifters :goofy:

Only if the owner signs a notarized statement promising never to exceed 220 mph. The Orion tracking system will be standard equipment and HONDA will know when or if the "promise" has been broken. :goofy:

Also...the rubber lobe can not exceed 10% growth at any speed due to the Orion Tracking system mointoring the engines load past 16,000 rpm.

I heard that it will have a "relief tube" so a 800 mile day is a real possibility. I also heard that the "waste" that goes down the tube will be processed by the bike and converted into fuel. Think about it, the VFR will be the first truly "Green" motorcycle....................or maybe you could say "brown".




Oh, and Timmy, it is only coming in Red. No Black this year.

But they'll still need an engineering services contract with VFRD to keep the electrical system going. :goofy:
