just thought I'd share. Friend gave me the idea when he asked if the reason I didn't have it on the bike was because I had a girlfriend. Something like that. Then the mention that a seat cowl is a way to let people know that the seat is vacant.

Or perhaps you could have 'single' written there... What do ya reckon?
Only thing is, it could get as touchy as changing the relationship status on your facebook account...
And if you are 'taken', don't let your girlie catch you riding with the cowl on... tsk! tsk!
I love it Seb. THough I prefer to leave the meaning up to the observer. That way I don't have to explain to anyone. Besides, if you have the cowl on where you gonna put it when someone takes you up on the "single" thing. My tank bag is not gonna hold it.

That is why I always keep a spare helmet in my bags, and, when I'm not touring, enough room to fit the cowl in them!

If you know what I mean...
I know exactly what you mean there. Still won't let me sell her gear though for some odd reason.
not so much hating bikes, but she has not been on the back since pregnant from our son (8 years now).
She keeps saying "oh, but one day I will ride with you again". (it will have to be on my brother's Pan European; since I have the Akrapovic exhaust, I have no more space to put passenger pegs....)
Och well, one new pair of leather pants, boots, gloves and a goretex lined bike jacket may come in handy sometime. They're bought and paid for.....

Your Peterbuilt woulda been jealous
The real hotties are the ones that have their own rides anyways.
And wear t-shirts that say: "Your boyfriend is hot" or: "You can't be my first but, you could be my next".

Ditto. I haven't used the cowl since I installed my Sargent, which doesn't fit perfectly with the cowl anyway. Moot point, however, as I strap stuff down to the rear seat all the time.

I guess that says "MARRIED" at 135mph... ;p
You meant 135 KPH, right Dutchy? Surely you wouldn't tempt fate by ever riding at such dangerous speeds as 135 miles per hour, right? :goofy:

Well, on German Autobahns, the speedo reads 245km/h, the GPS reads 232km/h.
In the Netherlands (where we do have speedlimits) I stay <170km/h since getting caught at 50 over means an instanteneous ban (which also means driving a car).
Last time I ever had "another"female on the back of my bike was a female collegue from France. When we came back to the office she proclaimed to my collegues "I have never been so wet in all my life"..............
Mind you, we did catch a rain shower......... ;p
Let me show you mine.....
