I had a little spill about a year ago and just finally finished making her pretty again. The bike has 42k miles now and looks as good (if not better) than new. I replaced all the plastics, chain and sprockets, brakes, etc., etc. I also had some powdercoating done. I did the exhaust, foot pegs, pedals, etc.
I think it turned out really well. What do you guys think? Are any pics., calander worthy?
I am waiting on some gold valves for the forks and I will install all new springs with a 929 shock.
Very nice looking. I've been considering getting my staintune cans and pipe powdercoated black over the winter. Your heatshields look really nice in black. I wonder if they will have a problem doing the mufflers and SS pipe.

I love the black too. I would like to see an 09 with red plastics on it. I think it makes a great contrast. I followed Ki-Speed's lead last week and painted my radiators black. The small details make such a big difference IMHO! :mellow:

I was thinking of doing the radiators in black as well. I still want to powder the clip ons and upper triple.

You may want to research the rear shock some more..
IIRC. The 929 shock is shorter than the f4 shock, there both shorter than the stock Oem..
Also the F4 has a remote Res, I dotn think the attached res on a 929 wiil fit in the space required..
Contact Turtlecreek for a # for a guy who will rebuild them for you.
He can get heavier custom springs that dont need adapters, The other shock manufacturers (racetech) need special adapters.
I got my F4 rebuilt and resprung with a 18kg for about 450 total, Shipping cost of shock on Ebay, Etc..
There is a thread I did on this in "suspensions" I think..

If you wanna be cheap about powder coating your pipes, you can spray on some high temp paint for car engines. It feels like a dry powder that will literally wipe off if you dont bake it on. So spray it on, wipe up the overspray and heat up your bike's pipes. Once it cools your pipes will have a baked on finish. The stuff works great on any metal surface. :fing02:

I think the ASIMO is truly trick. I'm 100% honda so I had to have one. It actually came off a key lanyard the dealer sent with a parts order. I safety wired his arm to to clip on bolt. He looks like he is just standing there, you cant see the wire.
DBS05 and I were talking about the black wheels sunday. I really like the black wheels better but there is just something about putting on wheels that will make the bike seem 1-2 years older. Most people wouldnt know what years had black wheels and I dont really care what others think if it's negative. For some reason I have a problem putting on the black wheels. I have been on the fence since I bought it.
I think maybe a real dark grey powdercoat. Something to make it diffirent.
I painted my heatshields originally with the BBQ black spray paint. It held up ok for about a year. It then started chipping off.

Two of my other bikes have black wheels and they are dirty before I leave the driveway. Black certainly looks the best though.

I meant the powder silver part, no? Like the swingarm.... Not the black subframe part.
So where to get done? How much? My Asphalt '04 looks damn good now, but she'd look even more stealth with blacked out exhaust covers and (had not thought of it) pegs / rearsets etc. :+1:
