The emblems are genuine honda parts from autos.

I tried these at first. I hate chrome but tried them amyway. The kind of stuck out like a sore thumb.

I moved this one to the front valve cover. It looks better in there. You have to bend down and look at the engine to see it.

These are the emblems I have wanted since I bought the bike. I think they look pretty good and finally the bike has a proper marking.

I'm not much of a sticker or emblem fan but I like that second one for sure! Got any part numbers or specific description in case some of us want to copy your idea?
#4
Yeah sure why not.

The chrome one is the engine cover emblem from a honda fit. Price $5 or so.

The dohc, vtec emblem comes froe the acura integra GSR. It is on right rear of the car. price $20 or so.

Oh yeah, Dutch, you didnt black out your bolts for the fairings. I painted the heads on mine black.

I am not 100% sure on the pricing. I work at a honda, acura shop so I get parts cheap.

If you copy me please send me $5 for copyright infringement, thanks.

+1. I like the placement of those versions, too. :fing02:

Aren't you going to get busted when a customer realizes the emblem is missing off their car? :goofy:

I like the final product!

My problem is that every time I think about painting something else black on the bike I decide to ride instead. :fing02:

Honda has got to admit that their auto VTEC is a resounding success
whereas the motor VTEC has been a dismal failure...
#10
i see that part on a 94-01 acura integra is it the 3 or 4 door model?
#11
AARPVFR and I came up with the idea and placement. I think if anyone copies this, they should put it in the same place. On my bike it looks like it is supposed to be there. 13 centimeters from the weld on the rear spar.

It shouldnt matter as long as it's a gsr. The fiche will show it.

BUSYLITTLESHOP. I am sorry the vtec is not for you. Please dont knock my bike and I wont knock yours.

Larry, I may have taken that the wrong way. You mean the vfr's are not flying off the shelves like vtec accords??????

Totally agree. One of the reasons the VTEC was developed was better gas mileage, not a real issue on a motorcycle. They also claim that there is more torque below the transition.I think my 4Gen had plenty of torque between 2-7K.don't feel a real huge difference down below between the two.
Also that power and weight transition that happens on 4 flat tires is not that dramatic at sane speeds ,in the turns.Slightly more un-nerving on a inch of rubber, sideways, on a bike.Always thought a restrictor tied to a tilt sensor would solve that problem. No VTEC engagement at extreme lean angles.
Going to the Honda dealership to maybe do a deal on a 09 Accord EX-L tomorrow. That's a VTEC I'm looking forward to playing with!
Sorry,Off Topic

Here is an emblem some of you 5th and 6th genners might consider adding on to your bike:

Chinese(?) made scooter  Under the "Lance" brand name. You can google it. Don't worry, there's not to many out on the streets, so no one will connect the dots.
I noticed it on one of the scooters parked near my work one day in SF...next to a white 6th gen.
The lettering looks nicely made and should be available as a part from the maker.

I've been around here for a while now and read a LOT of posts.
BLS, you are nowhere near as cool as you think you are. Just obnoxious.
What is this obsession with bagging on pretty much all bikes but your own.
Are you over-compensating for "short comings" in other areas?

To stay on topic... I like the emblems.

And yes, it is now officially winter.

You know... I'm not a sticker fan. However, I think that is one of the best uses for the acura badge I've seen. And I've seen a boat load of those acura badges on base model (old) honda civics. You know the ones, with ground skirts and fart-can/coffee can exhausts.

The acura badge and placement look really nice, why not highlight that it is (a version of) VTEC.

I did have a Target cart shagger ask if my '00 was a vtec once. I was surprised the 16 yo kid new what the f*** a vfr was. Surprised the hell outta me (there may be hope!)

Bravo!

This Interceptor logo is made with with chromed, raised letters. It might look better in place of the OEM stickers.
I'd consider putting it on my 95, except, officially my bike was not even called an interceptor by Honda. :(

sPOTO here is my take. I'm not into "bagging" in this fashion either BUT... BLS is a bit out of most of our leagues.

Check his gallery sometime or better yet call him up and try to hang in a tech conversation with him.
Talk about pucker factor!
You may feel like you just tried to barrel roll your VFR.

I think it is parallel to a paintball junkie trying to have a tactical conversation with a combat veteran.

$.02 spent...budget blown

BLS is a bit out of most of our leagues.

So I guess we should all thank him for taking the time to grace us with his unasked for "wisdom" on the VTEC system, when it was a simple "wadda ya think 'bout me sticker" thread?

I respect the fact that he may have more knowledge about the V-4 than anyone else on here.
If I had a technical question, you bet I'd ask him.

The fact is, it seems more often than not, he talks down to everyone and seldom has a "Wow, good job" or "I like that" comment without an in depth commentary on how he would do it better/differently.

Nobody on this board is better than anyone else. Period.
Knowledge, experience, skill level and tastes vary.

I do not hate Larry, I do not know him or enough about him to warrant that.
I just do not understand his thinking on his comments.

I am done and will comment no further.

I'm gettin' in my shots before the mods hold this one down in a hot vat of oil. (Don't ask what brand either)

VTEC prosperity has nothing to do with "Whadda ya think of my new stickers"

I'm not huge on stickers either but I do like the second round of VTECs on the bike.

Now, I just need a hand full of Acura logos to replace my Honda stickers. Then I can tell everybody down at the local hang-out that this is no normal Honda crap. This thing is a limited edition Acura bike designed to compete with the BMWs.

Sub topic, a bit on topic but not really:

I have seen several local cars that for some odd reason, display strange emblems/badges. Keep your eyes out in your area and pay attention to the wanna be's.

1) About a 1990 Chevy Blazer with a Denali emblem = understandable optimism
2) A late 90's Audi A4 with a M3 emblem = Huh? Yeah - RIGHT!
3) A mid 90's Eddie Bauer edition Explorer with the EB emblem removed and a similar "Eddie Haskell" emblem = Funny

not really a sticker fan, but the one on the frame looks good and has a mother honda part number so it should be OKed.

The first accord worked with 3 valves and then 4. I have never heard of a complaint or failure from a customer.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I think the emblem belongs there. It's basically the same color as the frame and blends right in.

Why not have a vtec emblem on a vtec?

Remember Acura is only in north america. Everywhere else in the world they are all hondas. The emblems come in a honda bag.

Eric:

Just so you know, they can be ordered up here at any Ford/Mercury dealer.
I'm not sure where you're from, so I don't know what the law is in your area.
I asked for them for an '08 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
All the Vics are made for North America at a single plant in St. Thomas Ontario, just west of me.
It's actually a play on the fact that in Ontario now, if you are caught going over 30mph, you automatically get your licence suspended and have your bike impounded right on the spot, BEFORE you get a chance to fight it in court...
I've had more than a few OPP see it and they actually get a chuckle out of it.... the county detachment is in our town.
It's not illegal; if it was, they wouldn't be available for sale to the general public.

But they ARE bloody expensive!!!! :(
