Hand Guards For Vfr?

I read on another forum that someone successfully adapted V Strom hand guards on their 02 VFR for winter wind protection.

Has anyone done this? And, what model V Strom and year comes with all the hardware? -- as there was some discussion about that too, but with no pics or real answers.

I've been thinking of this also.

I found this a write-up on it and think it would also work on a VFR with little variation.

You could probably do this for under $40.

I think it is worth a shot.

Got the grip heaters... and leave them black.

They are going to look big anyway, so I say why draw attention to them?

I have them on my DRZ they do absolutely nothing to protect my hands from the wind. They do a decent job of protecting my levers when and if I decide to throw her down the road, that's what they are really there for.
