Helppp! Installing The Exhaust Now!

im installing leo vince pipes right now and have a question. There is a graphite gasket on the stock pipes just above the cat. Do you need to remove it for the leo vince install? The ID on the leo vince down pipe matched the OD of the cat outlet, but is too small for fit about the OEM graphite gasket. So do i need to remove it and not have a graphite gasket at all? I would have something in there, otherwise I can see it leaking. Might not leak much, but theres only one way to find out hahaha

When I installed my aftermarket exhaust, (Staintune) I did not use a gasket. Just slid the pipe onto the catalytic converter as far down as it would go and tightened the clamp. No problems or leaks at all in five years of riding since the install.

+1, most aftermarket exhausts are set up this way.

I have the same leo vince pipes and no gasket was supplied, plus there is no way any kind of gasket would fit as you know it is tight. After putting the clamp provided on it is right on there, no leaks at all. Now granted I have motad catless headers, but the pipe should be the same size. I was messing around with my stock pipes and was trying to take them off, well I snapped one of the bolts and for some time I only had one bolt to tighten on the stock pipes. There was a bad leak after that and I can tell it's not there now after using the new clamp that came with the Leo's. I would not worry about it.

No gasket needed, just bolt it up :fing02:

+3. Just make sure it's nice and clean when you install it. There is no gasket for that area when you use an aftermarket pipe. I have 'Tunes on mine and there are no leaks.

I definitely think you have a problem there, send me the exhaust and I'll be sure to check it out for you no charge! :cool:

I installed my Leo's last March. When it came to the graphite gasket I had the same question...............SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I called Leo Vince and asked . The answer is YOU DO NOT NEED THE GASKET. Why ,because the fit is so tight you don't need one.
