Hey everyone. I'm a new VFR owner...2005 Silver and looking to spruce it up. Its a stock bike with nothing done to it...and me being the hands on guy I am feel the need to do something to it hehe. I've already decided I'm going to get a set of slipons for it this week, LV carbons. I really hate the tips on them, but oh well. Actually I love the two brothers sound and look of their cans, but I just can't bring myself to buy em b/c they only have flow through one can (such a small thing but it bugs the heck out of me). Anyways, cans are coming this week. Now what to do next? Here's what I'm thinking....

....ZG double bubble winshield, swapping out the front turn lights for clear and rear light for an 07/08 tail light with the clear signal lights. Question...does anyone know where I can get the lights for cheap? I bugs me to pay $200+ for an OEM tail light.

I've seen some of the guys on here have what looks like custom paint where they have a section of their lower fairing painted black, i think it looks super slick but I just can't bring myself to sand the fairing and paint it. Does anyone know where I could buy some black vinyl decal sheets that I might be able to roll onto the fairing? What would you recommend for my next mod's? Thanks!

oh....is a sargent seat worth it? (I note you can't get a backrest for them which my gf might like for long hauls)....I see you can get em though for Corbin but generally Sgt seems to get better feedback....

Good luck finding inexpensive OEM products. If you know the part # (which you can get on the Ron Ayers site) you can try cycle-parts.com but you have to buy a minimum of $75.

I have a Sargent seat and I love it but opinions vary as much as the arses ;) . My girl doesn't though as the seam digs into her thighs (she's pretty tiny though). And to over come the back rest issue, just buy a top case. Then you two will have a place to put your helmets when you get where you are going. It doubles nicely as a back rest and makes my girl feel more secure on the bike.

Other farkles could include:
heated hand grips
frame sliders
strip the paint off the wheels
after market rear view mirrors

Good mods:
remove the evap cannister
get a VFRness
beef up the RR wires
add a volt meter

All these ideas (and more) can be found readily through this forum. Just look around and read up on members' signatures as they often describe what mods they have done.

my little brother works a sign shop and they use sheets of vinyl or big stickers. i suggest u go to a sign comp. and ask if they would sell u a sheet(whatever size u need) or just take your plastic off the sides and take to them and let them do it. if u have never put that much vinyl on i would let them do it, sometimes it can be a nightmare. i still have my stock seat but i am in the process of making a driver backrest(for long trips) if u r interested once im finished i will send u a pic of it and if u like it i will send u the how tos so u can make one. just email me and let me know. bctaft@yahoo.com

For what its worth, I've got a Corbin on my 98, and I wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Simply perfection.

Clear lenses are a good start. Go to tapeworks.com if you really want to get crazy. How about some frame and rim polishing to add to the look. Think of you spending money on your bike as you being a true American and doing your part to stimulate the economy. :goofy:
