Hi,
I'm looking for a few items to mod up my Viffy RWB2007.
I've been having a really hard time finding this stuff, and I was hoping some of you experts out there
might have some answers.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Bike Windshield:
Iridium Color(preferably darker shade blue tint type)
I know Psykons makes them, but can't find any place that sells them.
I'm not sure if Puig does.
Airblade makes them, but I think the problem is with them is that there are no key notches
at the lower part of the screen to connect with the upper cowl..
Can't find their website either(maybe doesn't exist anymore)?
Fork Sliders:
Black fork sliders protectors
Hearing this may not be possible due to the design of the 6th gen axel rod?
Possibly can be replaced?
Picture below of the type of thing I'm looking for:

Steering Damper:
Anything out there besides Scott's??
I have my Gamin Mounted on the Tank bolts already. Not sure how they'll both work together.

Carbon Fiber Mirror Protectors/Shield:
Can't seem to find any for the 6th gen
Something like the below, although the below is fake carbon

Would appreciate any help you guys can provide.
I have never looked for any of those items so I am not sure where to start.
For what it's worth, the VFR is one bike that does not need a steering damper.

Pretty much hear ya on the Steering Damper..
Though would be cool to get the other stuff.
I love my Viffer, and I just wanna keep modding it up putting cool stuff on it.
Would be kool to find the above stuff.
I could see having a steering damper on the viffer. Ever have the front wheel come up during hard acceleration? Or hit a really big pothole?
Steering damper could help there. Just my .02 cents. Although I might be a little biased...had the front wheel come up twice in the last week :wheel:
In this struggling economy, this sounds like a couple of good products for some of our underworked engineers on this site. A good way to earn some quick cash if you have the know how.

I've seen the blue Iridum Airblade on a blue vtec and it looks really good :fing02:

From the airblade website it looks like it does have tabs:

Thanks Rosso, I appreciate that, but as I said, they don't have the notches on the lower end to fasten into the Upper Cowl.
I'm afraid at high speeds the shield may rip off.
Any valid concerns there?
Duct tape. :goofy:
Have you tried sending them an e-mail?

Ah, didn't read that part on the lower end to well
Only first hand info I have is that it did not come off doing 110mph/180kmh. Do not know what it does at high speed.
I got a tinted shield that come of E-BAY. It did not have the tabs on the bottom and would not fit the bike because of it. There are only 2 screws on the windshield, so the bottom part would just flip up. I guess I could try to cut some out with a dremel tool but I still dont think it would fit right. The bottom tabs are very important and the shields pictured dont have them.

Yeah, It's really something I can't quite decide what to do.
I don't always go at high speeds, but there are times on a lonely straight stretch of highway when conditions are right when I'll go over 200km.
There are other shield makers out there, but just found out that Psykons won't be available this year.
I know Puig makes shiels for the VFR, but so far haven't been able to access their website nor find one in Iridium color for the Viffer.
Any ideas on the other stuff I'm looking 4?

Take a look at the bends in my rims. I hit a pothole leaned over going about 80mph and although the bike did jump a foot or two over, there wasn't even a hint of headshake. Most stable bike I've owned...
Serious pucker moment though!
Remarkably, the wheels don't leak and don't vibrate.

That is freaking crazy! Perhaps no to the stabilizer then
Only time I got headshake on the vfr was wringing its neck going up the on-ramp on my local highway. Coulda just been wierd road conditions.
So, it seems like I'm pretty much outta luck then eh?
No one knows really where to find this stuff huh? :(
Fork sliders - dunno. If you have any machinist friends, you could buy a cheap pair of ebay mushroom-style frame sliders and adapt them to the axle somehow.
Scott's(Ohlins) damper - just google it, that should be easy to find! That style is also made by GPR and another company whose name escapes me at the moment.
(real)Carbon mirror covers - never seen them anywhere. Might have to have someone make a pair of overlays for you. Try PM'ing Rivcyko.
Try Powerbronze for the screen, I think they used to make one. Maybe Puig too. $$$ though!
Fork slider would only fit the drive side as there is a hex head bolt on the other end.
edit-- unless you found one that expands and one that threads in I suppose.
