Here are a few pics I found online a few years ago, I don't know who the owner is so I can't give credit where credit is due, but I thought some may want to see what a heavily chromed VFR looks like. Maybe the owner is on vfrdiscussion.com?
To each his own but if you want to make a heavy bike even heavier this is the expensive way to do it! :) Chrome wheels clean up very easy though. I'd like to see a closeup of the fairing insets and real cowl treatments; can't really tell what he did.
Chrome on a sport bike is not my thing. It looks OK though. That look just represents the " show pony" culture. I'd rather see a ratty VFR dragging parts around a curve. Use it for what it was made for.

I would normally agree, but this actually doesn't look too bad! I actually kind of like it.At least they didn't extend the swingarm 12 feet.
I think it looks good. Not my cup of team (I'm a powdercoat kinda guy) but I do like the wheels. I also like uniformity.....unlike my bike at present (jet-hot coated headers, chrome pieces on my carbon fiber ART pipe, black powdercoated heli bars, and then the other metal pieces that don't match). But in do time I will correct all!
Again, im not generally a fan of chrome, but this actually does work. The paint and the chrome work well together. Would probably look better if you removed the passenger pegs and didn't chrome the stands.

I try to respect others wants or styles. To me it is clean and smooth. A ratted out VFR with crap hanging off is just the opposite end of the spectrum.
WAAAAY too much chrome - needs some contrast (and I'm not talking about the non-shiny rear headers!)
Wheels, forks and swingarm are nice, but the rest is overkill.

:+1: Look at all the polishing you'd have to do...I ride in the rain too much...this one isn't as bad as some, like the ones too pretty to ride. Yuck!

I thought I wanted to Polish my rims like several of the other members on this forum. However after seeing all that chrome, I think it's overkill. I'm happy with my factory colors for now.

Exactly what I was thinking, too. Heck, I would think he'd have just removed it, but I'm sure he kept it since it probably comes in handy since he has to polish up all that chrome every week or so. :dry:
In all seriousness, I like chrome on motorcycles to a small degree, but this is a bit much IMO.
I think its somewhat overdone,the guy either owns a chrome shop or has a relative that does.
Also someone said that chroming increased weight,does anyone know approximately how much?
You can just express the amount in a per centage. Also since we are on the discussion of weight
does anyone know how much power coating increase weight? eddie

I had a friend with a Hummer H2 when they first came out.....he had chrome skid plates under it :blink: They were nice looking, but you had to get on your hands and knees to see them! :rolleyes:
The custom screen on the top of the tank would be cool if it was a gps. No big screen hanging out there on a ram mount. It might be a PAIN TO LOOK DOWN THAT FAR but oh well

Hmmm, this actually kinda' works with the silver paint. But the chrome rear sprocket & hub? Whew, there was some serious cash outlay going on here. And, yes, some of that money shoulda' been spent on the damn yard providing the back drop! The neighbors must be appalled. :goofy:
