What is that next to the Fries (chips)?  Is that Mayo on the fries?  I am one of the few ppl I know in the US that mixes Ketchup with Mayo for fries.

Cooked chinese noodles/spices pressed in this shape, breadcrumbed and then deep fat fried....


Yep, mayonaise (in fact a slightly sweeter variety...), called "frietje met"  ("fries with")
We also have:

Frietje Speciaal :  mayo, curry flavoured ketchup, raw diced onions
Frietje Pinda: peanutbutter sauce
Frietje Oorlog ("War"):  peanutbuttersauce and mayo on top



Good thing we ride bicycles a lot....

I hadn't heard of the peanut butter sauce, but I often eat fries w/ mayo & ketchup(not mixed). Must be the German in me... in Germany you ask for an order of pommes frit. :biggrin:

You can ride bikes every day, jog to work, lift weights and it will be for nothing if you eat like that. For the love of Mike! Breaded cheese that was deep fried? Sweet mayo on french fries? I plan on having a checkup Monday since I have been having some racing heartbeat issues. Damn 5 hour energy drink! I plan on printing your post and showing my doctor AFTER he chews my butt for gaining 15 lbs. over the last six months. Later, JD   :laugh:

I was going to say YUKK to mayo then I remembered that I love my fries with tarter sauce! (Frisch's of course...) I love the pix by the way. Europe is just a dream at this point The rugrats are tooo young.

Pien makes peanut sauce with her pork skewrs on the barbeque.  She calls it Saute.

And she also mixes katchup and mayo and is still searching america for dutch style mayo.


PS...Pien saw me typing and she is aghast that you forgot the onoins on the Frietje Oorlog.  (and she is now very hungry........)

The spicy ketchup version sounds good.  I sometimes don't mix my mayo and Ketchup Seb, as I do like the distinct flavor of them seperately.

Well............  as I accellerated on it,  I saw two cyclists coming ahead and kinda focussed on them. Not looking past them......   :goofy:
So when I did pass them, I was faced with the left turn you see in the top left of the picture, unprepared in term of speed and steering.
I tried "making it", but

I did manage to scrub off most of the speed, but with a downward slope I lost it. It fell on the left side and spun 180 degrees.


Lucky yes.

I walked away (ok limped, sprained my ankle) with no injury. ATGATT baby!
With some help from the nearby farm ("Oh don't feel bad, you are not the first and for sure won't be the last), got her back on the road and after the kindly offered drink could continue my trip.
Lucky I landed on the left side, not the right side where my Akrapovic lives...

I saw your pic in the tabs thread and knew something bad happened.  Very glad you came out clean(mostly).  Here's to a speedy recovery of the bike!

I hope this hasnt put you off Heerde.  When I rode that road 2 years ago, there was a reason I kept refusing to lead.  

I talked to Leon earlier and his spirits are high.  Hell be back very very soon.

That prang could have been a lot worse.  That road goes past the SECOND floor windows of some houses and in other spots, its a fall UP to the water.

Next time, the chip shop will be open, we wont crash, and well have a beer afterwards, yes?

Crashing SUCKS - in a bad way.........  But on a lighter note, in that last picture  - the one with the bicycles - would that be Dykes on bikes on dikes?  Just sort of got to wondering.........  Oh well, time for another beer and check the steaks on the barbie.

You chose a corner with good GP-style run-off, by the looks of things - sorry to hear of the damage, hope you and bike are back to 100% soon.

I think that Dutchy just got a little...umm...how should I say "lost his concentration", was thinking about said Dykes a little too much, rode his VFR to compensate, and the VFR got tired and needed to lay down and take a nap after such a long, hard ride on the Dykes...Fortunately Leon came down to Gernamy today to pick up some spares, and other than a stiff ankle and some soreness, he seems to be in good shape otherwise. Here's to a speedy recovery to you and your VFR!!!

Sorry about your crash man! Sucks. On the other hand, you came out all right, and that my friend is always better than any other outcome. I'm amazed as to how straight and good your bracket in the rear subframe came out! Looks perfect to me--or is it just the picture? Strange the excitement the frijt saus generated.. but then mebbe I'm so used to it I didn't think about it. After YEARS of making do with just mayo or tartare sauce, we bought some proper frijt saus two weeks ago from a Dutch shop near where my mother-in-law lives. (And some speculaas, nasi goreng mix, kroketten, and a few other things. NOT zoute drop though - only my oldest son likes those. Weirdo...)

the rear rim was not damaged, but I helped Doug clear out his   :huh: secret laboratory :biggrin:   of no longer wanted 4th gen parts.

One day I'll try and fix up the cracked panels, I hear MEK+red Lego can be used....

nice find.

i usually just fiberglass behind the panel, then sand/body-fill the now strengthened outer surface until it's good as new.

then it needs some paint, which is the real variable when you want it to get back to factory looks (which i never bother with, for the track bikes).

MEK is not available anymore but you can use a degreaser made by Bison : link.
