Nice pics Dutchy, I just got back from visiting my folks in Florida for 2 weeks, so lots of honey-do's to do. But I got a short ride in yesterday and hopefully again today and monday

In the U.S. it pays to live south of about 37 degrees +/-  latitude for more year 'round riding!  Us northerners have to be satisfied with wrenching over the winter months.  Oh well - makes it all the sweeter once good weather returns.   :tour:

That was almost the number 1 reason I moved to Az, because you don't have to shovel sunshine! Most of my life I have lived in Chicago where I only had change oil once a year and was lucking to put 3-4k on during the summer because of school, work, and lack of fun roads.

It's all relative.  Cogs, you're a southerner to me, but I'm a southerner to most of the rest of Canada (living, as I do, about 40 miles from the U.S. border).  The weather here is clear and sunny today, but only around freezing (0 C/32 F).  Most mornings now there is frost and black ice on the roads. Sadly, Dutchy's last pic reminded me that I should go and put some fuel stabilizer in the tank. :sad:    Time to start daydreaming about next season.  I'm thinking Summer Summit 2 is a possibility.  I've ridden to Denver a couple of times, and at 1,400 miles Montrose is 100 miles closer.  It's a matter of scheduling; next summer is looking busy ...

At 52 latitude, we get all seasons. And while it means parking the bike in winter, wouldn't want to live where it is sunshine all year round.

How different the current wheater is from last year. After the rain has washed away most of the salt I expect to take the bike out a couple of times this winter. But I am also looking forward to skate the lakes again.

Well my bad for leaving it open like that - sorry, it was meant to be sarcastic but Budgie is right - written word is too easy to misinterpret

I love sarcasm and thought that's what you meant, but like they've said hard to do the short spiked ones on paper.
This isn't directed to you, but in general. Peeps have to some how know each other better to do that on the written word. Look at how Dutch,Timmy, and Seb are picking/picked on all the time..........
Like one of my instructors In the service told our class when some joking got out of hand(1962)....... He said if people really didn't like you they wouldn't talk to you at all......... Which now days it's become a bad habit of thinking everything said or looked like, "is a PC negitive" ............Let us go back to where jokes were funny .........

Belfry - I'm likin' the new avatar.  Does this mean that the bike is spending the winter in the Bat Cave?  (sorry - I couldn't resist . . . :smile: ).   If you don't go to Colorado next August, you'll be kicking yourself when you see all the fun everyone had in the photos and vids that are posted up.  Hope you make it!

Spandex thread??  There's an idea!!   Hey, I'm French, what can I say?!?!?   French Canadian though, which mean that I play hockey on a frozen pond with ... spandex. Or something silly like that.

Great pictures - still so green!  (Ok, I admit to a bit of envy having had a whiteout blizzard last night and been shovelling more than my share of the white stuff).

Dutchy I have lived in a temperate climate much of my life being from Chicago. I have lived in Arizona for a little bit over a year now and it still is hard to get used to the lack of seasons.

Have a great winter. If your still planning on attending Tmac, we will see you there.

I went into a pissing contest a loooong time ago with someone here on VFRD and that was once and never again....

They are quite used to assless chaps on their side of the pond so what could they have agains spandex? Now assless spandex otoh....

You're not wrong on the weather being different... last year at this time we had 30cm of snow in the backyard.

I made my 'last ride for 2011' last week (sorry no photos), but I suspect I might be able to sneak out again (they're predicting 10-11 degrees next week).

I hope we do see some ice this year as I'm looking forward to teaching my daughter to skate :smile: .

Hi Dutchy,i had my last ride last weekend,the red devil is snug in its sleeping bag.The salt and grid was laid this this week,so im done for this year to. :sad:

Nice pics!!! Hopefully this coming summer will be a good one, as it will be my last in Europe.

My VFR is also sleapning sweet winterdreams, might be she sleeps also next summer. I might give a go and ride the smoker for one season :ph34r:
