Pazzo Levers?

Hey guy's I recently picked up a pair of Pazzo Levers for my '06. For some reason the clutch lever doesn't seem right. It bolted up just fine, but seems to stick out quite far from the grip. (Farther than the stock lever) How do I know if it is the right lever? Also the brake lever has some etching on it that says "Pazzo Racing" but the left one doesn't. Here are some pic's .

George - check the clutch lever against the stock one - just line it up and eyeball how similar they are - or aren't. I installed a set on my bike about a month ago - but I honestly don't recall a difference in the clutch side. I can check tomorrow where mine is in the closest position if you need me to.

Yeah, that would help. If you could measure it too, just to see if it is the same. (Mine are the "shorty") if that's makes a difference.

Gypsy knockoff parts?

At the closest position - its about 2 1/8".

At the farthest - its about 2 5/8".

Measured to the same point that you did (the bend in the lever).

I think you have the PAZZO's. Same as mine (shorties).

I got them from "Cycle Gear" they are supposed to be real Pazzo's, I paid $180.00.

I got them from "Cycle Gear" they are supposed to be real Pazzo's, I paid $180.00.

Certainly should be legit. But, occasionally, even distributors can get duped if the sellers are shrewd enough. The knockoff industry is incredibly huge and pervasive. To think they could be making inroads into the mcy specialty aftermarket is a little freaky. Normally, they stick to stuff with more mass appeal, like Gucci handbags for women, or bogus designer apparel. We might query some of the other board members here and ask, "Does your Pazzo clutch lever say 'Pazzo Racing' on it?" I just can't imagine a precision manufacturer like Pazzo turning out a product that appears to be that out of spec. FWIW.

I had a look - but I couldn't see the PAZZO name etched anywhere. Doesn't mean it isn't there - but its 12 midnight here - and my eyes are shot. I will re-look in the am.

Let me know where the name is etched on yours.

Interesting.... I was thinking about getting some..... After reading this I went and measured my stock ones and they are 2�" ... So other than the shorties what do you guys like more about them?

Dendron - may I ask why are assuming that Crazybrothers levers are out of spec? Mine are the exact same dimensions, and mine feel very much like the set thats on Grond1234 bike. Mine work great for me.

If it turns out that they are knockoffs - they're damn good ones!

Here's a link.... It seems that the leaver is far from the grip but they can adjust the engagement which is closer but the leaver is still out there as far as reach goes seems strange to me.

Just going on CrazyBrother's observations about the levers distance from the bar. It certainly could be that's the way Pazzo set them up. If your measurements are pretty close to the same as his, then he probably has the real deal. They're just different from stock.

Quickt thought....make sure the actuator pin is seated in the hole in the brass bushing.

Superb pics, Dutchie, that pretty much confirms it. CrazyBrother does have the real deal, and he'll just have to get used to the difference, or adjust it accordingly. BTW, I want some of these... :cool:

I bought the Pazzo's for my 2003 VFR and noticed the same thing. With the clutch lever set at the nearest to the bar setting, it is still a bit of a reach. Also, the brake lever seem to be a bit too close and I have to set it at the furthest position. Go figure. I have been tempted to put them on Ebay and search for something else.

I have a set on my CBR 600 and they seem to fit much better. I have them both set near the middle of their adjustability and they are just right.

Used them before and prefer the CRG's.

I bought a clutch lever second hand off VFRD from a 5th gen. I use it on my RC51 and in position 2 it matches the stocker pretty well exactly. Standard length. In pos 1 it doesn't engage the clutch switch due to hitting the outer ridge on the grip.
I only got it cause its black and matches the black Brembo brake lever. Do the 6th gens have a different lever?

"Pazzo" is only engraved on the right lever. You can get custom engraving if you want. Custom engraving, and free shipping, used to be freebies if ordered through the Pashnit site.

Blue Streak Racing has a good deal on ASV standard silver levers. I got myself a pair and love 'em - more adjustable than Pazzos. Free shipping in Ontario, too!

A guy I work with just bought a pair of these for his '08 CBR1000RRRRRR - they're gorgeous! The feel is really nice too. From what I can see, they're (at least superficially) pretty much the same as the Pazzos, but from the price he got them for, significantly cheaper. I've got a set of the std length ones, and they are the same way. You sure the clutch lever is farther away than stock? My stock lever was ridiculously far away, and I was able to get it a 1/2" closer with the Pazzo lever. It's still too far away for my tastes though. And yes, the Pazzo racing is only on the brake side with mine too. Very nicely made levers, but I don't think they work much better in my opinion......

Ima ask a stupid question... Do the new levers make a difference? I am not trying to question your judgement, but are they worth the ~$200 price tag?

I have the Pazzos.
They probably dont work much better than the standard ones, just bling really, but they look great and always get comments.

I got a set of Pazzo shorty's that came with the front end I bought. They have more adjustment and are easier to adjust than OEM, but main thing for me is the short lever. I find it so much more comfortable, I can't imagine going back to stock.

Got a quick response from Pazzo today... Here's what they said.

As long as you have part# V-00 on the adapter then you have the right one.

With the clutch side if we bring it in any closer the clutch won't engage all the way.

So we are very limited how close we can bring the lever in.

So I guess they are the right ones, I'll just get used to them. They work great & I love the feel and pull seems to be just as good as stock maybe even better. The only real issue with them is the look when you look at them they look different because of the adjuster position is different from brake & clutch.
