Replacing my chain a week ago..

Cut the old one (pictured) off with an angle grinder... opened the new one to discover it had 120 links, decided to go out and spend the dough on the proper tools.. so now I have a nice RK chain tool.

I previously had a Puig touring windscreen. It started to crack (about 2" long when I removed it) starting right where the hex screws contact it. I also didn't like that it was "dark purple" (advertised as dark smoke, but in very bright light it had a purple tint). Got this ZG Double Bubble new from ZGOutlet.com for $70+shipping. Only ridden a few miles with it so far... no complaints. You can also see the 3M Scotchlite tape I put on my front forks since I removed the ugly reflectors...

Two switches I installed.. so far, one turns on the USB power adapter I hard wired up for my ContourHD camera (which is currently back at the manufactuer because it was locking up, grr). The other switch doesn't do anything yet. It'll probably be for heated grips this winter. They're not waterproof switches, so lets see if they last through a rain... At least they're properly fused :).

Wire running to the relay.. I still need to put wire loom around this one, I've put wire loom around all other wires I've installed (and with my Starcom1, PTT button, remote volume control, garage door opener, USB power, Garmin Zumo, etc.. there are lots!). I'm pretty anal about clean installs.

Voltage LED... will turn yellow or red if the voltage drops. Picked this up many years ago, finally got around to putting it on the bike.

Garage door button & Starcom volume control... you can also see the wire loom tucked away that holds my Kenwood radio audio cable for bike-to-bike comms (or bike to repeater, I'm an amateur radio operator... When in the mountains, in case of emergency, I usually have no problems finding a repeater with my 5W radio where there is no chance of cell coverage).

Sargent seat.. I've discovered that I'm not tall enough to really "take advantage" of better seats since I sit up against the tank. It didn't make a big difference. 30" Inseam.

I keep 4 CO2 cartridges for the Stop'n'Go tire plugger in the access door on the underside of the Sargent seat. The rest of the kit with the tire plugs is contained underneath my top case bracket.

Looks good. On the round power switches, have you seen a similar design in a three way switch? I'm looking to replace a toggle & wanted to match the same round style switch.

Details on the voltage LED? Is that a kit or something you wired up?

The voltage LED was a kit... pretty cheap if I recall, $20-25. I wish I could tell you where I got it but it's been many years.

That one looks like it does the same, but that one is huge! This is nothing but a small circuit board with some components on it (maybe .5"x2") with heat shrink tubing around it and a little LED on a 6" lead coming out of one end. It was much cheaper than that too.

I have the on-off-on switches that are round like that...works great for heated grips etc. They are not lighted however.

I really like the voltage LED thing. Good information to have. A question: Do you find that at a stop you are on your toes unless you use only one foot and lean the bike over a bit? I have a 30" inseam too and am getting a Sigma Cycles lowering kit so I can be flat footed, rather than on my toes most times when stopped.

I didn't know if I flat foot the bike, so I just put on my boots and went outside to sit on the bike to see :).

I can flat foot the bike, but when doing so my hamstrings are stretched a bit. I guess my normal/comfortable position at stop lights is on the balls of my feet with my heels up in the air a bit. Doesn't bother me I guess :).

Nice work there! And I like the look of the clear lenses with the asphalt black. :) I think that's the first time I've seen that combo.

Hmmm, I just don't understand the allure of clear lenses. Maybe I'm just biased, as mine are amber, but I don't think that's all of it... :unsure:

In any case, Kris, I noticed you've got two different fender eliminators. I've never liked the ones that put the plate in-between the cans (right pic), but that one that puts it just below them (left) looks preety good to me. I don't recall seeing that one before. May I ask where you got it?

The one on the right was the one the bike came with when I bought it... Unfortunately I needed the stock bracket with the pannier cases.

The one on the left is STOCK... just with the plastic piece removed!

Got my round switches at Radio Shack with the light. Nice install on all the other stuff. starting to work om mine now. This is a great site. will post pics soon on mods so far.

I like your BMW, very sharp. The blacked out trim looks super on those darker colors. And the page's layout is cool, I like how clicking on the pic links fades it in and out. I have to ask, are you an accountant?
