Apparently there is even a crumple-zone behind the headlight. Probably not too effective at 30 MPH though.

I don't think the VFR1200F has this crumple zone (and air bag) as it would have definately been mentioned in some of the reviews and on the Honda website. It is just a patent and may be introduced on some later (touring) model.
