I was just loking thru a spec chart and it says the valves have threaded adjusters. These are the easiest to adjust by far. Nearly 95% of all hondas have them. Even the S2000. They went to shim under bucket to gain rpm with less float but I guess an old style rocker arm still works. More torque less revs.
My vtec has 55kmiles and I still havent checked the valves. I am also a honda tech, how sad is that?
Valve adjustments on the 1200 should be asy with only new gaskets needed. Most of the work would be getting the valve covers off and a hole to work.
Doug I think they are a combo of threaded adjusters and shim under buckets. One camshaft that lifts 2 rockers for the exhaust and then directly operates 2 shims under buckets on the intake lobes. Technology they took from the crf dirtbikes.

I remember the same about the Unicam system. One side (at the camshaft side of the head) is still acutated by buckets under cams.

In the specs it say's "THREADED ADJUSTERS" AND THEY ARE RIGHT THERE IN THE PIC.
They sure are... on the front four valves. The back four valves are under that cam. Which has shims and buckets underneath it. Right there in the pic. ;)
