FORK LOWERING KITS

I'm tring to get some input on fork spring lowering kits, anyone try this , like it dislike it, any info would be appreciated.

i have installed many, many , MANY fork lowwering kiys in all kinds of HDs and other cruisers.. they do work.. but will bottom out sooner ..if you do use the kit rememer to lower the baclk of the bike too.. :fing02:

Why not just slide the forks up in the triple clamps? I mean, how far are you going with this?

I'd like to lower the bike 1 inch. What is the preferred method of doing this without negativly impacting the handling of the bike?(this should have been my first question)

Well I think 1 inch is too much you will be scraping hard parts if you a capable rider. Cheapest way is to just slide the forks up a bit in the triple trees, then reorient the shock link triangles so that the bike sits lower, the triangles in the shock linkage have asymetrical mount holes that when reoriented will set the bike lower in the back. Then you can also remove some foam from your seat - remove the cover, then go at it with an electric knife and a sander and shape it lower, then glue the cover back in and staple it back to the bottom of the seat.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll leave it as is. My feet touch the groung just fine normally, but my driveway is a fairly steep incline and can be a little difficult to move around without getting off of the bike. I can live with that, I was just checking the options.
