Does anyone know if Convertibars (convertibars.com) are still in operation? I've tried for the last week to contact them and left messages and email but no replies. Or does anyone know where I could purchase the longer lines/cables as I see other sites sell the Bars themselves but not the longer lines/cables.

Thanks

Got a call from Convertibars today. I guess they have been swamped with orders and being a small business it's either answer phones or fill orders. So my order is in and placed. :cheerleader: :bliss:

That is excellent news! Every business should have problems like that, right?
And they're American Made, too.
Congrats on your new upgrade, show pics when they're on!
:fing02:

Took some pics of my adjustment before/after work.

Extreme Justice,
Did you receive the convertibars, yet? Keep us posted, I ordered mine on April 1 and I am in Alberta too, just curious how fast you get them.

Nothing yet. Will keep you Posted. Did you get the longer lines as well? Do you plan on installing them yourself? I'm in St Albert. I recieved my ASV Levers from Motomummy.com today and I ordered them after the convertibars. Keep me posted as well.

Bill

P.S. Still not answering their phones. Tried today several times. BTW I ordered mine on Mar 19th!!

Has everyone who has ordered Convertibars had this much trouble contacting them. Their phone message advises that, "someone will get back to you today". Well this has never happened (took 5 days, 1st time). Been 2 days and no reply to e-mail message so far. I hope there worth it.

Does anyone have experience with convertibars on 5th gen?

thanks

Extreme Justice,
do you have an email address that I can email you at?
The one listed on the forum does not exist.
Did you get a sales order confirmation after you ordered?
I got a receipt and an order confirmation in 2 separate emails.

Yes I recieved both the e-mails. But have not recieved anything since. Have e-mailed and called leaving messages to no replies/callback as of yet. Have no USPS/UPS shipping info so can't even track to see if it's been shipped. Credit Card was charged/processed on the 19th May. Same Day I ordered. Still no reply from e-mail sent 6 days ago.

Well it has almost been a month and I still haven't recieved my order from Convertibars. I have ordered stuff from Motomummy.com (Highly recommend....fast and reasonable shipping costs)and cyclegear.com (also recommend, but shipping is slower). Convertibars have not answered e-mails or messages left on their phone. How long is reasonable to wait? My CC was charged on May 19th, same day ordered. I just want to know if my items have shipped. I do have the invoice that Convertibars have sent me via email as well as my Visa Statement indicating the charge. My biggest problem is no answer on their phone or phone/replies to messages. When I read write ups about the Convertibars, the most people wrote about was their Customer Service. :excl:

Opinions?

Thanks

Relax people & if you have happened to have sent Convertibars a nasty email you better send an apology. I have the bellow posted email from them after sending a email asking about supply because I want a set for another frankenviffer project.

hi , my name is tim bachman. tim tamcsin the owner of convertibars died last week from colon cancer, this is why we have been out of the loop and you have not heard from us. i apologize, it's been a long couple of months. i am taking over the operations of the company but the process has been slow because tim t basically ran the entire company and figuring out the way it all works is tedious . if you have not disputed the visa bill or tried to cancel the order i can ship your order within a week. please let me know how you would like to proceed. please spread the word on your forum that we are back in the saddle and convertibars will continue on and make tim t proud. thanks for your patients. tim b

(i will be using tim t's email for the near future until i can switch over to a new one)

I have convertibars on my 6th gen and they are worth every single penny they cost...the longer lines that came with mine were spiegler's, you should be able to order the longer lines from them.

Convertibars are HIGHLY recommended from me.

I received a call From Tim B on Thursday explaining the situation.

Well after a 2 month wait I recieved my longer lines/cables from Convertibars the other day. So I booked my bike in to the Dealership for the install and 2 hours later they called back indicating the lines were for a NON ABS bike. I checked my order and sure enough I ordered the ABS lines. The dealership (convertibar canadian distributor)attempted to call Convertibars and I also attempted, leaving a panicked message that my bike was apart and they shipped the wrong brake line. Well no call back to the dealer or myself. I called Spiegler to see if they could rush ship one out, but according to Spiegler, they only make the longer lines when they get an large order from Convertibars, So I was SOL from Spiegler too. Now what do I do?!

A Big Hats Off to SCONA CYCLE in Edmonton, they had the longer steel braided cable made and my bike is ready to be picked up after only 2 days. It's nice to see a dealer go above and beyond to help out.

Good to hear Bill.

Maybe we can get together for a spin someday and you can compare to my modified Ducati 900SS Helibars.

That is, after I get the paint and VIN and insurance/registration all figured out. :comp13:

I began the installation of my Convertibars last night. Started with Throttle cables - no problem. They sent the wrong brake line for my non-ABS 6th gen. Called Convertibars and they are barred from doing anything because the business is in probate due to the owner passing away. Called Spiegler - they can't help unless I order a custom line. Spiegler said that Convertibars just gives them dimensions and they build the lines. If yours is a 6th gen I'll swap you brake lines. I'll finish my install tonight without the brake & clutch lines since I may have to send them back (They came in the same Spiegler packaging).

I'll gladly swap break lines. I have the 6th Gen Non ABS CABLES. THEY ARE 2 cables for the non ABS and only 1 for the ABS.
