Honda's use of the unicam where one set of valves is operated directly from the cam lobe and the other set is operated by a follower is a cool idea. They used it for space savings. I though, "way to go, Honda, keep on comming up with new and cool stuff"
Then today I was looking at the valve train of a Junkers Jumo 211b V-12 motor from a German WWII bomber, and I noticed they used the same layout. While this is a rather nerdly discovery, I though it worth mentioning, espescially because it is thought of as innovative in 2010, but it was being used in 1936.
