I'm looking to replace the brake hoses for my front calipers only - just from the front brake master cylinder down. I don't care about all the lines going to/from the rear as I am only concerned with feel at the front lever (which is unaffected by other hoses).
I contacted HEL Australia to try and order this rather than the whole kit, but they gave me that Aussie redneck/bogan tone of voice which suggests this is much too hard for them to deal with (if you're Australian and have to deal with stupid local tradesmen you'll know the exact voice I'm talking about).
I'm basically looking for an orderable part code, or a dealer who knows how to do the wrangling for me. All input appreciated!
Any dealership (or somewhere online) can get you universal brake lines, that's what I did for my 2002 and I really like it. Goodridge & Russell are a couple of the brands to name a few.

A UK place called "Jaws" sells a kit for 200 bucks. It is a de-Link kit.
Well, found a place locally that will do it for $129.95 AUD plus shipping. It's the same place which I purchased my Powercommander and Autotune from, and had no issues with.
I think the kit just uses two hoses rather than three hoses with junction blocks, which explains the price, but I can live with that.
This is the de-link kit...the brakes on 5th gen are same as the blackbird... De-link kit
its about half way down. You can just use the parts you need and not de-link, and at about 250 shipped, it's only a little more expensive than custom (OK maybe twice as expensive :mellow: )

so does that mean you can run mixed SS and rubber lines in a linked set up with no ill effect? I have some stainless lines for the front, but its from a de-linked set-up, and me likey my linked brakes :)

Nothing will explode. Better lever feel is the upshot, without the expense of a full brakeline kit for the whole bike.
My Ninja had stainless lines front and rear, I bought the bike w/ them, and always loved the brakes (the fancy euro full floating front rotor I'm sure didn't hurt anything :) ). Well I guess I have a new project for myself, those lines have been sitting in a box for over a year now lol

Think I need to reiterate that I'm thinking of front lines only. :warranty:
I have been walking also whit the idea to replase only the front brake lines, but the fact that the system is joined together has kept me whit the stock ones. The banjo where the line go just thro is also a thing you dont get for aftermarken universal banjos. The other thing I wounderd abouth is to give the second master cylinder a own reservuoar for the secondery/rear mastercylinder. My only consern is would it work? or do it need mresure feed?
Spiegler Performance Parts (spieglerusa.com) now offers a front-only kit for the VFR 5th and 6th gen. It includes 3 lines. I believe the part number is VFR-800KIT and the price was $138.55 U.S. If you email them, ask for Dave, as he was the one who put together the kit for me.
I wanted to do the whole bike but I've got ABS and it sounds like a real nightmare (not to mention expensive)to do the whole setup.
For the Linked brake hondas they used to offer two option for brake lines. Either the 400 dollar all inclusive or the 200 dollar two front line only set. I think it's mainly for looks as the linked brake system works extremely well as designed. I am with you with the two front only system as I think it looks trick with mild improvement without paying for the 400 dollar set. Us dollar btw.
