Decals: replacement or OEM?

As some of you may have seem from my introduction thread, my new-to-me VFR was almost certainly repainted by the previous previous owner, and decorated with some sponsor stickers instead of the typical VFR stickers. Horses for courses, everyone has different tastes but for me they don't seem "right":

While I don't mind the Showa & Gas stickers, I really don't like the Seven Stars stickers. I'd like to replace them, but I'm not sure with what. This is the crappy parts diagram of the stock stickers:

The big VFR stickers appear to be $25 each (which I think is a little pricey for a simple, one- or two-color vinyl cut sticker.) This sticker is the closest I can find in an aftermarket decal, from www.xtremedecal.com:

Note that it doesn't include the "Interceptor" text. But they are quite a bit cheaper. The other thing I would like -- but I can't seem to find online -- is a sticker that essentially "covers" the NACA duct on the side of the bike. I mean, it doesn't actually cover it, but it sits on top of the duct so that the duct itself appears black against the rest of the fairing, if that makes any sense. I'll probably get rid of the Honda, Brembo and RK logos from the tail of the bike, too.

Thoughts & opinions? I'd also like yellow rim tape to break up the "blackness" of the wheels, but that will come later I suspect.

You can get rid of all the stickers you don't like and see how it looks. I don't have the Big VFR sticker on one of my fairing, and I don't mind it. It looks clean. However, for symmetry's sake, I should probably remove the other one, or buy a new sticker for the stickerless side.

Just offering up another option. No one says you need stickers.

I just bought sticker for my 93 from here: Extreme Decals They were very good with time frame. They hand make the sticker to the colors that you choose. From when I ordered to receiving was about 2 weeks. Hope it helps.

I went with the Honda stickers since my '99 didn't come with them, but after a year or so I took them off, just preferred the clean look without any on the side panels. Try it like that and see if you like it before buying any? For the naca ducts maybe you can buy the material and cut your own, shouldn't be too difficult.

What I don't get, aren't there supposed to be (7) stars to go along with the "Seven Stars", not (6)?? :laughing6-hehe:
