Ok, I'm not trying to rehash anything here, but I've search quite a bit and haven't found a poster who listed putting f4i forks on a 6th gen, plenty of talk about them on a 5th gen with 6th gen triple trees and handlebars, but noting absolute about the 6th.
So here's the question: What is needed? As near as I can tell you need the forks, brake calipers, and will need a new master cylinder & brake lines, plus delinking in the rear.
The benefits seem to be fully adjustable forks and de-linked brakes. As near as I can tell, the VFR wheel will work, as will the fender, but only using 4 of the 6 mounting holes. The rotors seem like they will work, but I think it seems like the calipers will need to be shimmed axially when mounted over the VFR rotors.
I'm trying to get an idea of what is involved. I'm already planing on sending my forks to Jamie to have them resprung/revalved and now I'm considering buying a set of f4i forks to be rebuilt instead if the swap is relatively simple.
My biggest desire is for the brakes, I've been a little annoyed with the fact that my kawasaki mean streak that I sold this spring had much better front brakes than my VFR. sure it's a cruiser with ZX-9 6 piston calipers, but still.
So what am I missing? Simple swap or no?
Thanks,
Dan
