Was in the market for a new windscreen, but I am extremely fond of the OEM on my 07. Was spoofing around the 'Net looking for alternatives and stumbled across this. Anyone ever use this stuff or have ever tried to do this type of thing? Was thinking about trying to Tint my OEM instead of spending the extra coin for a new windscreen that I might not be happy with.
I don't know about the stuff you are asking about, but I painted the inside of my stock screen and it worked out well. I used a can of spray paint (I think it was Krylon) from the hardware store that was intended for painting plastic lawn furniture. It supposedly had something in it that permitted it to flex without cracking. It was a simple job but it was a solid color as opposed to being tinted.
I wouldn't trust that paint. Spraying a curved windscreen seems like an inexact science, and if it is truly translucent, I figure it will show every single change in application thickness, etc.
How about just using window-tint film? That'd even be removable.

I actually was looking that up, but read someplace (id have to go through my history to find the link if you want to read it) that putting windown tint on that much of a curve would produce bubbles and rinkles, ect. ect.
I have no first hand knowledge of that though... just going by what I read.
regular window tint will not conform to the inside of the windscreen. a buddy of mine that owns a tint shop tried on my 600rr and it couldn't be done, and he's damn good. the night shade spray tint is good stuff. i used it on my turn signals on my jeep and it worked great. may use it on my screen

I did the same. Approx. 4 years ago I took off my OEM screen and spray painted the back side black. Several thin coats of Krylon (I think its called Fusion). It's special for painting plastics. It still looks like new. It also helps keep my Radar detector, Chatterbox and XM radio hidden in the cover of shade most of the time (and the cops don't see the radar detector. One of the best, easiest and cheapest mods I've done.
