Wonder what the stainless steel exhaust cover/shroud might look like with a black powdercoated finish?

Perhaps it would be the save all and help to make the bike come together a little better.

Even some paint after covering it in wide painters tape and a spray just to get an idea might be neat.

Alright who's gonna be first?

Now that I think of it maybe a nice heat resistant paint/finish that some of these manufactures use.

Had a holeshot can I think it was a while back, where the dark finish was just gorgeous..

Would make that rear wheel stand out even more IMO..not having that bright exhaust!

At least one member here painted or powdercoated most of the silver parts on his candy apple red VFR, including the exhaust shields and cans. Hopefully he'll chime in here with a pic or two.

Send Soichiro a pm or Rivcycko........ both went black I believe.

Dutch Interceptor has black shrouds on his as well....lots of pictures available....of course his isn't 7th gen, so it won't be exactly the same...

As long as the heat shield doesn't get extremely hot then powder coating is a great option. Just tear it off the bike, have it media/sand blasted and coated with a high quality exterior(UV Resistant) powder.

FWIW: Textured paint traps dirt and is really hard to keep clean.

Or if you like the shiny look, there is always black chrome plating.

I'm thinking a black semi-gloss coating on the heat shield and maybe leave the end cap in chrome or coat it in a low gloss metallic silver.

If I do anything it won't be until winter.
