I have a 1998 VFR that I have not ridden much in the last few years. Last time the tires were changed was back in ~2002 and I had taken some long road trips with too much highway. Thus some flat spots on the center rear. The bikes has 13K miles and I am headed out later for a longer trip with maybe 1-2k miles with some highway and twisties. I rather not get stuck especially across the border so considering replacement tires as I suspect the rear (center) may wear out soon.
I have the older Sportmax D207F on front (120/70 ZR17) and D205 on rear (180/55 ZR17).
Since I was pretty happy with these (for all around riding and in the rain) I was going to get another set.
I read decent reviews for the Roadsmart:
I see the Qualitfier or even and Q2 but those seem for those more aggresive and the tire wear is much shorter?
The Roadsmarts are a sport touring tire, good for if you plan on lots of highway. they wear pretty good. That being said, i prefered the Bridgestone 021s more and the Michelin Pilot Road 2 s best of all. 021s can be found on sale now because they are being replaced with the 023. Pilot Road 2s cost just a little more than Roadsmarts and can also be found on sale.

i've got Roadsmarts on the FJR. LOVE EM!!! almost 5k miles on em, they probably have over 50% rubber left. and they edge nicely. i can imagine that on the VFR, they will wear quite slowly (compared to the FJR). i "think" i might be doing 80% or higher of straight roads since i mostly just commute to work. if and when i get my VFR, Roadsmarts are goin on it too, unless a newer model comes out.
They really are fantastic tires for turn-in, comfort, road feel, wear and longevity.
You'll be glad you got them. They're quite popular with the riders on the forum that travel a lot of miles and still want a decent sport tire.

The local shop recommended the Michelin Pilot Road 2 and I also saw good reviews so got a decent deal on them.
I had some on my 4th that I totaled, I had about 8000 miles on them when I crashed with easily 1-2k miles left in them. Never a hiccup, as others have said they ride well in all conditions, especially in the rain! Great value if you don't want to fork out for the PR2's.
I've had both the michelins and the dunlops............michelins have superior stick but you'll literally get 50% less mileage from them. The roadsmarts are excellent tires, and unless you ride EXTREMELY aggressively, they will stick just fine.
After 3 sets of PR2s I went with the Road smarts in June. After 2 rallys they now have ~5800 miles on them and are very flat in the middle. What few corners I have ridden with them I have thought they stuck very similar to the PR2s. I plan to get another 2000 miles out of them in the next few weeks so I can replace them with Angel STs that I got cheap for a trip to the IBA national and Ride the Rockies.
Well I was sold on the Michelin Pilot Road 2CT and (after I drop the bike off) the shop just called and said the front tire is back-ordered and they recommend the Power Pures.
Anyway he found the RoadSmarts so i go with those. Sounds like either tire works well for this bike.
My best rear mileage ever was on a Roadsmart... 7K. and the profile still looked pretty good at the end. The front was shagged pretty bad at 6.5K and I replaced it. I never had issues with traction with the Dunlops but I have slowed down especially in a straight line and off the line.

I use the Roadsmarts on my vetec, they are very good, best tire Ihave had .
