How close is too close?

I've just been fitting up my belly panels and one of the front downpipes from my new system is really close.

Here are some pictures.  I've got about 3mm clearance at the closest point.

I know this is too close and I'm left with three options:

1.  Cut away some of the belly panel to give more clearance.
2.  Wrap the exhaust with some exhaust wrap tape.
3.  Both 1 and 2.

Any advice would be gratefully received as I'm not sure what the best solution is.  How much protection from the pipe will heat wrap give?  I've put weeks of work into this rebuild and I don't want it to go up in smoke on day one.

3rd option.. heat shields that stick to the body panel.. most new bikes have them..
i think you can find them in the lockhart phillips site/catalog

Heat reflective tape one the inside of my beatlebags, after I got a whiff or melting plastic. It did the trick. Got it at Lowes.
Could wrap the pipe with header tape-
