I always thought the '85(far left) had the best stripe layout. There was also the Rotman's one and a rare one that had gradient lines from the red to the white.

Though I can't see all of it...the one on the far right looks the nicest to me. :fing02:

Actually, the bike shown in the far left, is an 1984 RE model. The USA 1985 RF bike only had a single headlight. The last bike on the right is an 1986 RG model.

True, but same stripe layout. Also like the venting holes better on the 85/86. I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed though.

Anyone know it the Rothmans color was a factory option (limited spechal?) or is it a aftermarket jobb?

It is a factory colour but I am not sure if this is one of them as to me it looks the blue is too bright. The Rothmans 1 KR has a dark blue.

It was a factory option in 1986 on the G model. PM me if you want photos of specific areas.

One thing I found strange is all here aside the Ref have black rims, and 84 bikes I see for sale locally (well in naibour country) have white rims :blink:

Edit: Just noticed bike in pic above dont have stock exhaust can.

To my knowledge(and 25yrs of looking), the rims of all years were black. Brochure pics are better than personal pics for color accuracy. Anyone can paint a rim.

Here's a closer look at the rare gradient stripes. Not my favorite.

According to a French site I found, they didnt get the Rf for 85, but a Re whit slightly diffrent tape like the gradient stripes.
Also French Honda sold a limited 300 numbered serie whit 130HP engine (diffrent exhaust). The power figure is from the Jap site.
Here a pic from the Ferench site, and this also has red rims.

Oui. It has more blue to balance out the red.
