Just came across this today: VFR600F

Yeah, I know, it's just fantasy, but it appeals to me a lot more than anything else currently on the market.

A Modern 600cc V-Four Honda Motorcycle, with a Single Sided Swingarm and HRC colors.....I'm gonna close my eyes and fantasize about it right now *sigh*

Since they mentioned it, it does remind me of a hammerhead shark. I'd be all over this or an updated, streetable NC30 for canyon carving.

We can only pray for this prototype to hit the streets... I wouldn't even know what to do with my self if this came out.. Prolly wrangle up all my toys and trade em in on this

wow, that would be fantastic...Modern v4 in a lightweight modern chassis....Sweeet....

but....

It would mean that the big H would have to admit that they may have been "off the mark" with their current v4 flagship....

Actually I think that they would be concerned that the 600 v4 wouldl take sales from their CBR's . Nice to think about though.

How about a 5th gen 800cc that's racing tuned or the 750? I'm sure they can get a lot more power out of the engines that have already proven themselves.

Are they not racing 600cc V4's in Moto2?

Though I think I would find it a stretch. Truth be told, is there anything truly wrong with the CBR600?

you're not the only one - I'd be at the dealer with my checkbook, credit card, piggy bank, whatever it took to bring one of these home.......

no, there's nothing wrong with the CBR. it is, however, very generic - all the 600's are pretty much the same. a supersport V4 600 with a single sided swing arm, no one else is doing that.

and if I'm spending my hard earned $$, the decision rests on more than comparing numbers in a magazine shootout. I need something that speaks to me on an emotional level. and that thing sure does - a unique, very honda motor, single sided swing arm just because, HRC racing colors, a high revving V4 exhaust note.........it pushes a lot of my buttons. your mileage may vary though

Let's face it though. In all fairness, about 80% of all people who buy a 600 supersport are squids, newbies, and so on. All they really care about is that it is cheap and cool. And now that I said that, they just might be stupid enough to think that because it's different, it's cooler than the rest and start buying (and wrecking) them. Then again, the Daytona 675 is technically different and such, but it hasn't been such a hot seller.

Nice but Race Bred V4s are RVFs not VFRs...

/agree

The seat is too CBR-like, and it does not support a passenger. Swap out the whole tail section for something more sport touring and less strictly sport. The VFR is a sport/touring bike, that is a CBR with a VFR engine.

Right! But people are trying to use this as a VFR replacement in the direction that they think honda should've taken.

No, they wouldn't have to because the direction they took the VFR is the direction they WANTED to take the VFR. This particular full sport VFR wouldn't be practical for most VFR riders that bought their bike to be able to tour all day comfortably on it. Otherwise they would've bought a CBR. Think about all the owners that buy a VFR and STILL complain about bar placement or peg height being too sporty so they buy Helibars and lowering blocks. Those people would find this bike completely uncomfortable. It speaks to those of us that would buy an RC45 and actually put the miles to it, or would still consider or have a CBR for a second bike. It by no means would replace the VFR, two totally different bikes.

I think you're missing the whole point of the exercise here, This is supposed to be a pure sport bike. We've already got 7 generations of VFR sport/touring bikes.

All that being said.......I'd buy one in a heartbeat instead of the GSXR750 that I'm planning on buying for a track/play bike.
