Sliders

Was weondering who uses sliders and if you feel they are worth it. I am thinking about adding some but I don't want to mess up my body work. Does anyone make some that can be installed without having to drill the body work? How about axel sliders? How many do you need to install to truly save the bike from damage in the event of a tip-over or worse case scenerio crash? A little insurance never hurt but like I said I don't want to "self-inflict" damage with drilling.

Just do a search under "sliders" and you will find quite abit of info. I just did this am, and even found a thread debating their "usefullness"

I no sooner installed them on my '98 when I did a slow drop on its left side at a gas station (don't ask). Only damage was a rub on the left grip and scarring on the end of the slider (and the temporary bruising of my ego). I just twisted the slider puck 180 degrees and you can't even see the scars now.

I'm not sure what good they would do in a lowside at speed, but they are well worth it for those potential garage and driveway drops.

google oggy knobs they r supposed to b the best not drill frame sliders.

Worth every penny, and hole.
