Cut out the masked area using a very sharp knife

Snap the Meter in place.

Tapped into the Signal +ve power. Total time to fit 1hr.

I have one similar to that one and I mounted it in about the same place on my 5th gen. I wish now that I mounted it higher on that cowl because my handlebars obstruct the view a little. Higher would have been a simple glance down to the meter. Yours may be different.
You can put some clear plastic over the meter to make it somewhat waterproof. I never had trouble with mine after I did.
its definitely not waterproof but i think i took care of it. The under circuit i coated with silion and put a little silicon glue between the blue lens and the black frame. I thinks its good.

It's my experience that tapping into a harness wire will display a reading a few tenths of a volt lower than one taken directly at the battery. It's a PITA but running a switched relay from the + battery terminal will give you the most accurate reading if that is important to you. It wasn't for me. I just compared the two and mentally added it back in. Kinda' like you do with the factory speedometer error. :biggrin:

Lee - RIGHT !!! it has been pouring for last couple of days. At this point we are towards the 80% of the monsoon season and should get over in a month or too. Jul/Aug are the peak months and gradually reduces in Sep/Oct. Thats for the Weather forecast :)
Fotomoto - you are right. I have ordered a Fusebox which i will use for all these accessories. Will have the relay fitted at that time.
danmurphymn - the product is from China so the cost of shipping to India and the US will be the same. I am sure there are similar products out there being shipped from the US.
mechdziner714 - I usually shut the bike down during the monsoon season. Taking the bike out in the rain is like 30 min of pleasure and 3 hrs of agony to clean :D. The battery has gone down a bit since its not being used. Will give it a full charge in couple of days.
