Who's interested in a ride again this Saturday? We'll focus on roads in Putnam, Rockland and southern Ulster Countys for the convenience of friends coming from NYC / NJ / PA (sorry Seb). Routes 301 (Cold Spring to Carmel) and 218 (West Point to Cornwall) will definitely be included. Depending on the loop, loop direction (cw or ccw), time of day and preference, we'll have lunch at Whistling Willies (Cold Spring), Raccoon Saloon (Marlboro) or Gilded Otter (New Paltz).........all 3 are known for their burgers and  . I can't lead at a Seb(like)speed, but it'll be fun and on some stretches of road I'll point you in the right direction and be close behind!!

Wish I could, I had a great time this last weekend. But, unfortunately, the wife has to work, so someone has to watch the kids. Stay safe.

Stuck here working in Syracuse till the seventh. No riding till then. This working thing really sucks. Those roads are a great ride.

Pencil me in. Got a ride on the 5th as well in PA, maybe I'll see about overnighting down there and doing both...

Brian, can you post up a map or pic of the route, to give an idea of start/finish, when you get a chance?

I didn't realize that I was stepping on Steve's Roman's run on Sunday the 5th. We can push the Hudson Valley ride off til the 11th if that works out better for everyone. Both dates work for me, so I'll be riding regardless of the group size.

I'll be scouting some roads in the next couple of days and will try to get a map posted by mid week. The roads will be inside the triangle of Bear Mtn (Rockland) - Carmel (Putnam) - New Paltz
(southern Ulster) with Orange County in between.

I struggled with the Google Map thing and finally gave up! Here's what I have in mind for this Saturday............we'll meet at 9:30 at the Bagel place opposite Rockwell Cycle on Rt 9W in Fort Montgomery (just north of Bear Mtn.)...........we'll roll at 10:00. For those that want to look at the new Ducatis at Rockwell (i.e.; Seb), I think they open at 9:00. Ride will go south and to the top of Bear Mtn for a quick glance for those that haven't seen the view before..........then back down the mountain and across the Bear Mtn Bridge..........rt6 to the Annsville Circle........then wind our way north to Dennytown Rd and onto 301........east on 301 to Carmel.........turn around and head back to Cold Spring on 301 and some of the off shoots..........north from Cold Spring to some back roads in Wappingers, then a few miles of traffic lights on Rt 9 north and across the Mid Hudson Bridge .........onto back roads in Highland, New Paltz and Rosendale..........then more back roads south to Marlboro to the Racoon Saloon. This should put us at lunch around 1:00. After lunch we'll wind our way south to Newburgh and onto River Rd.........then south to Cornwall and onto 218..........to 9W south and back to the starting point at about 3:30. This run is nice back roads for the most part.........a few of which are very twisty and recently repaved! There are a couple of short stretches of highway and traffic lights, but we'll keep that to a minimum.

I'll be tearing off a chunk of bagel at 9:35............post or PM if you're "in".

I'm trying to iron out my weekend schedule right now I have to say that making this ride is looking iffy.

Brian, I'll help you figure out the mapping thing if you want to give me a call later.
