I found dealer who let me do a test ride on a vfr1200f yesterday and I loved it. I don't get the haters, it is a sweet bike. I'm looking to pull the trigger in the next two to four weeks and I want to know what everyone is paying. I noticed that every dealer in the area has at least one and some have up to three in showroom available for purchase. You can send me a pm if you don't want to post the price in the forum.

13K GBP is 20K USD. If you add DCT, bags, grips, stand etc... to what HS paid, you will be close to 20 in US coin.
Not that big of a difference, considering that EVERYTHING is more expensive where you are.
Thanks for the input. It sounds like 13.5k-14k is a good price. One of the dealers in my area still wants $500 above MSRP plus tax and the usual b.s. fees. I'm going to try a powerhouse dealer 45 minutes south of L.A. From what I gather, it seems like the powerhouse dealers have better prices than the multiline dealers.

I was at the Honda dealer near my work today (in Ipswich Queensland, Australia). They've got one for $23950 Oz dollars - ride away no more to pay!
Equates to $21720 US dollars at today's exchange rate!! :angry: Highway bloody robbery :dry:
Stopped at a local dealer yesterday for something else, but noticed their new VFR is priced at $14,999 plus freight, assembly, tax, title and doc fees - most of which is ridiculous IMO. They might make a better deal, but I don't think that particular dealership is known for it, so I'm guessing they'll have that bike for awhile.

Here is a question for you guys in the U.S.A. that posted paying 13.5K-14K. Did you pay freight and prep on top of that price or just tax, Title and license on top of the price stated? The reason I ask is that I tried a couple of dealers in the Los Angeles area this weekend and I could not get them to budge for less than MSRP. A dealer today went $500 under but then tried to say I need to pay $890 freight and $900 dealer prep. It is crazy because I was the only person in each dealer I visited and these bikes have been sitting since late spring! Most dealers I have visited only have one sales person on duty, so they must be strapped for cash. It is just as well I didn't buy from them today as the sales guy was half paying attention to me and half watching a football game on the television. I just got up and walked out when he came up with the crazy frieght and prep prices. I still haven't visited Huntington Beach Honda (powerhouse dealer) since it's a bit far away from me. I might call Hollister too, but that place is really far away, but it maybe worth the effort.
I have not been there but have heard read they have good OTD prices. Near the 405 and 105 interchange I believe. :fing02:

The sales guy said that Honda has not given them updated prices since the bike has come out last spring. I think that place is scaling back. Their inventory is low and they are now closed on Sundays. They usually have a diverse range of bikes (i.e at least one of each model Triumph, Honda, Suzuki, Victory, etc....) but instead they just have the easy selling staples like GSX-Rs, Daytonas, & CBRs. I also test road a Multistrada 1200S this weekend at a Ducati dealer and the salesman started making me offers well below MSRP when I was trying to leave! He was practically begging me to buy from him, I suspect I will be getting a lot of follow up calls from him. To bad I didn't like the Duc after the test ride.
BTW, I feel a little greasy from talking to all these salesmen this weekend.
Call around the state. If you can get a better deal, then fly and ride. You may not save that much all told, but for the same money, you get the experience of being on the road. Also, Mission Motorcycles in Daly City has had one for a few months, that may be willing to deal if you tell them that you'd be flying up from SoCal. Hollister Honda may deal too since they service a lot of police and ATV bikes, they can afford to pass a deal or two.

That my friend is damn insane. How can anyone afford that for a bike? I can only imagine what a really nice Harley goes for.
well, i guess that our income would somehow reflect the pricing on new motorized products... we probably have the highest taxes in the world when it comes to road-going products...

ok,that is a question with many answers:
unregistred for track-use (?) 121656,- nok
if you want to use it on public roads you will have to add 25 percent tax, and then an one-time tax spelled 116830,- nok!!!
so actually over 50 percent of the road ready price is taxes...
now, one usd cost us 6.2 nok approx.

To get a license plate on a used imported bike in Denmark
you have to pay tax as follows
"Used vehicles
For used motor vehicle registration tax is calculated on the basis of what vehicle is rated to. fees for used vehicles calculated in the same way as for new vehicles. The taxable amount, thresholds and amounts reduced by the same percentage value of the vehicle including the charge is amended, in conjunction with a similar vehicle which is taxed as new."
Just picked up my VFR1200 DCT here in New Orleans for $15,500. No tax becuase I traded in my Ducati Monster 1100S and my Honda Fury just takes and registration which is nominal.
