In Parts I and II. This is what I did.

For Part III. I think some refinement is needed. :biggrin:

When I was waiting on some parts for the forks. I decided to install some new light bulbs.I got some PIAA bulbs. I also got one of tighwad's 6 light mod kits to go with the PIAA's. Found out that you can't use the two together, as it BLOWS the headlight fuse in about 10 minutes of run time. :angry: Did look good while it lasted. The PIAA's are almost as good as HIDS. Now that tightwad has come out with the HIDS. I would of went with them. Just about the same price. :dry:

Next, I got a Gerbing's jacket liner. Man, I should of had one of these years ago. :fing02: The only problem so far with the liner is where the cord plugs into the liner. Sometimes, I have the spread the inside of the plug apart to make a good connection.

Mounting the control switch. You have to watch where you put it behind the panel. Not much room.

I put a rear Powerlet on. It's between the shock reservoir and the rear footpeg bracket.

Somewhere during the summer. I installed a Turbo City fuel pressure regulator. Honesty opinion on it. After doing the K&N air filter and air box mods in Part I. The bike felted alittle lean thru the power band. After installing the regulator. Low to mid range feels good now. But top end is still lean in my opinion. It's a cheap band aid before you get a PCIII or V with someone's map. When I installed my slip-on's, with no spuds. It's LEAN on top. With spuds in. It's better.

After doing Veefer Maddess's pipe mod this summer. :fing02: And hearing his pipe on my bike, and hearing him preach to me about needing a pipe for my bike. LOL I call on Veefer Maddess's friend, Giovanni for a aluminum can Leo Vince slip-on. Nice guy, with good deals. :fing02:

Took me a couple of times cutting on Rivcylo's hugger to get the mid-pipe to fit without hitting it.

I'm running the spuds until I get a PCIII or V. The VFR still sounds good tho. :musik20: I still have a few more things to get before I start on Part IV. LOL So I will be updating this thread, time to time. :biggrin:

I guess my only consolation will be that I'll be out riding while you're stuck in your garage. :goofy:

what's left to do besides a toro charger???

What is left to do? Jet Hot coated catless pipes,seat, sat radio, which is next, PCIII or V. Part IV SHHHHH!!!!! LOL

Up-date time. :biggrin:

Fixed the problem with the Gerbing liner. Sometimes I would lose my heat in the liner. Then I would move about on the bike. And it would come back on. I figure it was something easy to fix. I was right.

I had to spread the inside post apart so that it makes good contact with the plug on the liner. That's it. :fing02:

The one in the middle is for temp control power to the gloves. It also powers the plug on the left. Which can be for pants, socks, and insoles

After reading knife's thread on him using a sat radio thru a Scala Rider G4. Thought I would do the same thing.

Here's the Scala Rider on my X11.

Next, I mounted the antenna on the rear most part of the bike. Using double stick tape. There is nothing blocking the antenna in this location.

Ran the antenna wire up to my fuse block. From there, it went with the power wires around the motor, and under the fuel tank in their own wiring loom, to the front of the bike.

Here everything is hooked up to a Starmate 5 dock. Also in the pic is a Booster.

In knife's thread. He used a icombi AG12 bluetooth between his radio and G4 for wireless. I tried using the AG12 that I had on hand. It didn't work. So I went out and got another one. It doesn't pair up either. :pissed: So I did abit more reseach on this. Find out that the only thing that works is a Camos bluetooth. How knife's got his to work. I don't know. So now I got 2 AG12's. that I don't need. Anybody want them?

Looking good! I like how the voltmeter got a custom home, although the right pod panel is where i put mine. If you want to run 6 bulbs, you probably need to boost the power in, as the stock wiring isn't really up to it. Of course I still have the HID kit...just let me know what temp you want!

That's odd. Mine works perfectly. I remember the pairing procedure was a bit unusual (when to power on, etc.), but it worked fine and has remained paired since then. By the way, that AG12 you show is not the one I have.

Of course, something had to go wrong, and it did. My radio will not detect the antenna any longer. Evidently, Sirius radios are notorious for this. Guess it's time for (another) new Sirius radio, which will be my third.

Bummer about your radio. I know my AG12's look different then yours. These are the new style, and since Chatterbox makes them. They changed them so that they won't pair up with the G4's is my guess. Two different companies with the same product. My G4 will pair up with the Camos I got. But sometimes I have to repair again. It won't stayed paired. :mad:

It's been a productive day. Didn't break anything, or lose anything. :biggrin: Just finished up installing the APE CCT manual adjusters. The rear one was pretty easy. The front one..........that's another story. It an't too bad, just takes time to move some wires and hoses around. I figure I go ahead and do them since I got the air box off for the starter valve syn.

Here's the 2 APEs with the key I made. Had to make another key out of some harder steel. The in the picture started to twist on me.

I finally got around to dropping the header. The stock vs the Delkevic header is about 10 lbs difference. Combine that with the Leo cans. I think the VFR lost about 30 lbs. I soaked the header nuts for a month I think with nut buster. LOL The stock header fell off with no problems. I'm going to fit up the Delkevic header to the engine. Then I'm going to tack weld a center stand stop in place. Drop the header, and finish tig welding the stop. Once I do this. I'm sending the header out for coating.

I had a chance to tear apart one of my CCT's. I can't find a reason why these things go bad. The only thing that I can think of, is that the rod inside gets stuck. And it's not moving out automatically, or self adjusting. With it not moving out. This is causing the noise. Cam chain hitting the guide, and the guide slapping the head of the CCT. Could be a piece of sludge or dirt that gets in on the threads of the rod, inside the CCT causing it to stick. Good question. If anybody now that has one making noise now. Try this. Get the key, and rewind the CCT inplace. Remove the the key. This should remove any sludge or dirt on the threads of the rod, And reset the CCT. If this works. You saved your self some money. If not, you will be spending some money, cause now you know it needs replaced.

Interesting to see what they did with the front headers... chop out the crossover, but add some wave for desired length.
I actually prefer Honda's straightness and articulated cross pattern design

These were on ebay some months ago, half price just down the road.
But I was sceptical... as the owner hinted there was an updated version coming... hence the discounted price.

They are still selling, but are dearer and I'm not sure whether the update was just bs.

Was anything said to you when buying?

I'll be keen to hear your thoughts on the install.

Nothing was said. I didn't know about any up dates at the time I bought them.
