I'm really excited! The shop came to pick up my 92 VFR late last week to clean the carbs, do the fork oil and get it running again. I'm the original owner and was using it as a summer only commute bike for the first 5 years, then it became a bit of a garage queen and only came out for weekend rides in nice weather. Then when my daughter came on the scene, it ended up mostly sitting with only the very occasional ride to keep the fluids circulating, until I wasn't able to take it out for almost 9 months due to an illness in the family. That's when the idle circuit jets got fouled... that was just over 2 years ago.
But I'm almost afraid to ride it now... it's not that my skills aren't going to be sharp, that I realize and will take it easy. The bike is completely stock and everything is original and undamaged. It looks like parts are impossible (or very difficult/expensive) to get now that it's 18 years old. It's almost an antique ;). Besides bikebandit, are there other suggestions for parts or bodywork in case I find myself in need?
Thanks in advance for pointers.
