Pics of VFR700 (86) w/ F2/3 wheels please?

I've searched and looked but cannot find pics of an 86 VFR700 with the F3/2 wheel mod. It sounds like something I'd like to try but I haven't seen any with the mod completed. Is this mod doable on a VF500? I've seen the VF1000R's with the F3 and 900RR wheels and they look good. Thanks.

That is one beautiful bike. I could only dream of that kind of bodywork...

smackdoogle, this is a conversion that ive been wanting REALLY bad for my 87....ive seen other pics of bikes with these wheels, and IMO, they look 100x better than the stock 3 spoke wheels that our bikes came with (not to mention the other advantages of this conversion). I've just been looking for the right deal on a set of F2 wheels and a nice detailed howto on getting the conversion completed.

I hope you decide to move forward with this conversion on yours, I think its totally worth it.

and btw, thank you and thanks to your whole unit for your service to our country!!!

Thanks for the support guys. I've cheated with the conversion. I just bought a 85 VF1000R with the conversion already done. Now I just need to powder coat the wheels white. I did do some digging and found it looks relatively simple and with a ton of help here, http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/ it should be a breeze.

Yes I am and I know the rule about pics but I have a legitimate excuss......................I'm US Navy and I'm deployed right now about 9900 miles from home. Through this website a great seller and an understanding wife I purchased the bike while away so pics will have to wait until I take leave in April/May but believe me, there will be pic's. I'm sure I can get the wife to send me pics but loading a pic here can take a little while. Trust me, no one is more anxious than I.

My VFR is a work in progress. Actually, I think it would have to be _making_ some progress to make that accurate. So lets call it a loosely-assembled assortment of parts that hasn't been a working motorcycle in 10+ years.

Apparently I'm not smart enough to post pics on this forum. Just look here. It's the blue/silver one. Pics start in ~1996 when I bought the bike from my GF after selling my 92 VFR. You can also see the current (partly assembled) state of the bike, with F2/F3 front & rear, Penske, 750 motor, etc.

Also in that album are some pics of a VFR with CBR wheels belonging to Art from the 86-87 VFR Yahoo Group. I don't know his last name, where he lives or if he still has the bike. Art's is the RWB bike. Oh, Art's bike is also the one in the small pic posted by Keny, in post #5 above.

There's photos of a yellow bike that belongs (belonged?) to Steve. Also no further info.

And there are pics of the mostly white naked 86 750 I used to have. The 750 motor is now in my 87, the Hindle and Cobalt tail were sold, and most of the rest of it was reassembled with my old 700 motor by a guy from the Yahoo group in Gaineseville FL.

Kicking myself for selling the Hindle. BTW, I do have the headlight, gauges, and some of the other naked bits from the 86. I'd sell them if somebody wants.

The swingarm is no issue even with a wider tire, notched the chaingaurd 1/3 inch, machined the reaction arm about 6 mm to clear tire by about 6mm, machined all parts of cushdrive hub to inset it 3mm deeper, machined cd hub bearing seat 1.5mm so dust seal would sit deeper, faced off the hub seal lip 2mm for good swingarm clearance while retaining dust seal, machined sprocket bolts and nuts down for clearance, reversed oem sprocket it sits about 1mm farther in that way. Ordered a late model cbr1000rr countershaft sprocket (wider spline area) faced the outside 2.5mm, made a 3.3mm shim to go behind the cs sprocket, so it has good chain to tire clearance (a 180 tire should clear) I have a 170/60-17 now, notched the cs sprocket cover to clear the cs sprocket, made new wheel spacers rt and left sides. Wheel alignment came out perfect, It drives sweet now and of course looks great. These wheels use, vfr700 rotors, axles and rear sprocket. Front I machined 5mm off rotor mounts, 5mm off speedo drive and made a new rt spacer about 5mm less width.

For those who used the F2 rear wheel...whats size spacers were used and in what order? Did anyone use the F2 rear caliper bracket?

As promised, here is my VFKR with CBR wheels. I'm up in the air if I want them white or keep them black. Today was the first ride ever. Was only supposed to be 5 miles. 1 and a half hours later I get home happy. Wife was not.
